I have not touched my 360 for about 3 weeks.
I decided to start it up, and it had RRoD.
So like everyone else with RRoD I wrapped it up and cooked it.
Then I started it and it worked, but to my amazement it still has RRoD.

Me and my friend are assuming it to be a witch...

You do realize that by 'cooking it' you're overheating the motherboard, thereby making your problem worse than it currently is?

Its the only was to make it work.
Its either that or not playing it at all.
You chose.

Its the only way to make it work.
Its either that or do some research and try to get it repaired/repair it yourself.
You choose.
Fixed.

You act like I have never done that.
None of the methods to fix RRs work. At least not the free ones.
I could send it in, but do to me voiding the Warranty, I would need to spend $100 dollars on repairs.
Sense I don't have the money, or rather, not willing to spend the money, this is the best I am able to do.
Eventually it will die, and I'll by a new 360, of course taking the case off my current one and putting it on the new one in memory.
But I've seen RRed 360s run for months, even years. It will be a long time before I need to that. Most likely.

Yes.
And before anyone suggests, it did not die because I cooked it.
I made sure to remove my HD every time I cooked my box.
It's just that the 360 is designed horribly. Horribly.

Seeing as how the towel trick is not the best thing to do to a 360, there are different methods to fix a 360 that has 'Red Ringed'. Here's one: http://www.instructables.com/id/Fix-the-Red-Ring-of-Deathwithout-towels/

and here's a youtube tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsz0lNJ6JrQ (try this one first)

you would rather pay for a new/used system which will easily cost more than the $100 you would have payed to get it repaired?

at least try alternative methods before you even consider buying another system.

The youtube one does not work.
We tried it on my buddies 360 way back last summer.
It just made it work for a few days, no doubt screwing up the video output, then the box failed.

No way to be sure about the other one, but I have seen dozens of guides and videos, and none work, so I don't expect this one to either.

It sucks either way. You buy an old one, you get RROD. You buy a new one, you get the new E74 whatever error.

I recently got a used 360 for a real low price, and it had the E74 error.  So I tried the "Fix the RRoD without towels" repair, and it does work.  But if you do decide to try this I have a few things to add.

1. Get the tool to open the case!  It's a real bizatch to open.
2. Get some WD-40.  Use it to remove the heat sink compound.  Just spray a small amount on a swab, and clean it off.  Then clean the surface off with a swab and alcohol to get any residual WD-40 off.

Also, not all the heat sinks on the GPU are the same.  Mine had a copper heat pipe, and second set of fins on it that I've never seen in any of the topics on the mod.  I actually added a third fan to it.  I'll try to get a picture of my mod and post it later.
