So heres whats going on,
For Fanime 2009 my friends and I are making our own costumes(to save money) and we are in need of some tips^^.

Temari Cosplay

1. Hair Products
Temari's hair needs to be styled in four small ponytails, my hair is a lil past my shouders and its very thin. Also my hair is bright blond ontop and underneth is a dark black with blue tints. I have short layers, bangs, and my hair is colored/dyed/bleached. Now I'm having my hair freshly trimmed,re-colored and stuff the week before Fanime so its all neat and clean, however I'm not sure which hair products to use for Temari's hairstyle. I know it won't look the same as her characters, because of my two toned hair but what products would you recomend to get the same volume, height and style that would look the closest to Temari's? Any advice you have would be helpful.

Hinata Cosplay

1. Hair Coloring
My friend Neko is going as a Hinata Maid and her hair is brownish black. Her parents won't allow periment dye for the convention so our question is what type of dye would give her a bright dark blue hair color and is a temp dye?

Sorry for my spelling errors and thanks in advance ^^

for Temari, you're honestly better off getting a wig (either commission or styling it yourself) - you're going to end up using a lot of product to get the height and volume for the ponytails (and even more to keep them up throughout the day). Though if you are going to end up using your own hair, Got2B is going to be your best bet. I highly recommend the Freeze Blast spray and the hair cement.

Ya I know, I'm trying to get a wig but they cost alot on such short notice. Thanks for your help though^^ Any advice for the Hinata cosplay as well?

Well I know Loreal had a temporary dye out a while ago, but they closest they had to what you want was a black that had blue tints - you're not going to get a solid dark blue color unless you bleach the hair (which isn't an option for you), so the best you're going to be able to do is tint it.

If your friend's parents will get mad if her hair actually comes out colored in any way, you might want to have her stay away from temporary hair color. The problem with any temporary hair color is that if your hair is bleached from either chemicals or the sun - they can and will partially stain your hair, especially on blondes (although she isn't one). My experience with Loreal Color Pulse in particular is that when I used their orange on my medium brown, the majority of the color washed out, but my hair was left with a permanent orange hue due to sun bleaching. It wasn't hideous, but it was enough of a difference to be noticed.

BUT, if her parents don't mind, that's probably the closest that you're going to get without using a gel. I could have sworn Manic Panic carried a temporary hair dye that wasn't a gel, but I can't seem to find it, so it might have not existed. :O

Okay, well thank you. Neko's parents let her use Hot Topic's temp dye last convention but we had to use seven of those little boxes to color her hair. They were cheap too, a dollar a box but the problem was that even with seven boxes her hair only got a light, I mean light tint of the color. It looked okay in the sun but it started to fade out within the first couple of hours. She has all virgin hair, never dying/bleaching it before. So she was going to do the same thing as last year cause its cheap but I just wanted to know if there was anything that worked better. I will try to find this Loreal product. Thank you ^^
