Being a genuine noob to Fanime (and cons in general), I have a few questions about the swap meet. :)

1.) How does it exactly go on? Like.. Do you sign up for it, and then get assigned to a table/half a table type process.. Or is it something like a big room where people claim their territory and lay out the things they're selling?

And 2.)

I've heard of people selling Wii's, and other things that aren't directly Anime/Video game related (Wait. Nevermind. Wii's are kind of.)  But just to make sure, would things like mp3 players and rollerblade type things be sold? Or is that just too much like a garage sale? :/ (Two random things.. But things along those lines.)

Thanks for reading my noob questions. :D

Swapmeet is open Thursday and Friday night and is held (or has been held) in the arcade room. Spots are taped off along the wall and in neat rows down the middle of the room. No tables, everything is laid out on the ground.

Thursday is first come first served with a limited number of spaces available whereas Friday has a sign up list (not posted yet). After you pick up your badge you get in line with your stuff, fill out the sellers form and fork over your money. Your spots are assigned to you.

As for what to sell, MP3 player sounds ok to me, but roller skates are pushing it. People sell non anime/Japan related DVDs and collectibles, but still things people might be looking for. If you have other items you're not sure of you can ask around .

Ah.. Thanks for clearing all that up. And the two examples were random items that I saw laying about my room- nothing I really intend on selling.

How much is it usually for a spot? :o

Last year was my first time selling and I only sold on Thursday. I believe a full 7' x 10' was $20 and a half spot was 3.5' x 5' for $10. I imagine the sizes will be the same but cost might increase this year.

EDIT: Looks like I got the half size wrong

Half of a 7' by 10' space is a 7' by 5' space or a 3.5' by 10' space, so it's $10 for that. Sizes are still approximate though, but that's what we're aiming for when we tape them off.

Last year, I signed up for Friday's swap meet. After filling out some information, then showing my badge and ID, I paid a $10 fee for the space($20 for a bigger space).
OMG! What the Fugnuggets is going on?!
