Which zombies are scarier...

the living dead or infected zombies?
The infected ones make more sense logcially but the dead zombies are decaying corpses back from the graveyard and such.
Keep in my mind that this isn't about slow moving versus fast moving zombies since dead and infected zombies can be both.

Infected Zombies.  The dead should not have souls, so killing them isn't so hard.  Really it's like taking the battery out of a toy, just more brutal.  The infected never died, so they technically still have souls.  Killing something with a soul has consequences.  I'm much more likely to hesitate when killing someone I believe to have a soul (even though they want to eat my brain / infect me) than if I was kiling something that I don't think has a soul.

Infected because you have to watch out to not become infected most. Half the time one scratch equal game over. Plus they multiply with the amount of kills they get.

The dead zombies are still freakier to me because they're corpses coming back to life. Infected are more like deranged sick people. Interesting side note; I remember when I was a kid, I took a school bus that would pick up these two kids who lived right next to a grave yard. I always thought "sucks to be them" because it's like asking to be eaten by zombies. XD

I would feel the same..because when I was young I was watching Tv and Night of the Living dead came on and I made the mistake watching it and after that I was horrified of cemeteries for a year till I started playing Resident evil and then I realized it wasnt so bad >.>;  I would take short cuts through the grave yard all the time to save me time XD

For me dead zombies, especially from the movie Return of the Living Dead, the zombie inside the toxic barrel scared the crap out of me back then.  :-X
