I'm pre registering online for myself and a couple of friends so we don't have to wait at the door to buy tickets, our problem is that we are all under 18 and don't plan on having anyone over 18 with us. I've heard people going without adults before but I'm just confused as to how your supposed to, registering as a group you have to have a leader thats over 18 but I was wondering can we have my parent go into each of our fanime accounts and buy our tickets seperately and just have her show her ID for all of us when we pick up the badges? Please help me I'm so confused and really want to be able to go and not wait at the door  :'(

1) you will still need to wait in line. 2) the person picking up the group registration must have ID. It goes without saying that that person must also be a member.

Calm down, there are answers.  Last year I registered as a seventeen year old and was eighteen by the time I got to fanime, and it all went swimmingly.  There was a youngster in my group and he didn't have problems either.

First of all, they are memberships, not tickets.  You will get a badge you will be picking up at the con, which signifies your membership.

You will have to "wait at the door" no matter what.  There are two lines, the "pre-registered" (which will be you) line, and the line of people who are going to purchase their memberships there at the con.  To avoid a line, get in the pre-reg line at five or six in the morning.  They start giving badges out at eight oclock, but the line fills up quickly.

I don't know anything about the group rate, unfortunately, but someone will soon post here with that answer.

You will all have to show some sort of government issued identification at the con to get your badge, like a driver's license or i.d. (the ones that look just like drivers licenses) so that means that your school i.d. or library card doesn't count.  I think you also have to have the copy of the receipt from when you paid for your membership on the fanime website, just bring it anyways.  They don't need your parent's i.d. to give you your badge at con, i believe.  Just make sure that that membership is purchased under your name so that when you present them with you shiny little government-issued i.d. at the desk after you wait in line with everyone else, they will believe that you are you and then give you your badge.

People go without adults all the time.  You just can't check in to a hotel without an adult.  If you're staying at a hotel, just get your mom or dad to check you in and you'll be fine.

There seems to be a lot of people who think they need to be 18+ to go to Fanime or pick up your badges. That is NOT the case. What we ask for is a government issued photo ID when picking up your badges. As michiko nakano was saying, you can get a state ID.

Unfortunately there is no group rate or discount.

Don't forget about Thursday pickup. Thats one of the big bonuses of Pre-Reg, past the spiffy art on the badge of course.

This is confusing me.  This will be my third time going to Fanime.  I am now 16.  I have always gotten my badge without anybody over 18.  I have never been asked for an ID.  Nor do I even have one.  o_O
If you do at-con registration, you probably wouldn't have gotten asked for your ID. For picking up badges that have already been pre-paid online, we have always required ID.
