so....can anyone describe how the speed dating went? I couldn't make it this year because they told me it was full. (hey, there's always next year)

Can anyone describe how it worked or what you thought of it? Did anyone "hook up" at the end of it? "Hook up" in the sense that they hung out afterwards, or did everyone go their separate ways after it was over

I'm pretty curious, I'm sure there are others that wanna know as well. ;D

I was in 7pm slot. They had 8 girls and 11 guys. Guys had letters as their name tag and girl had numbers. Each were given 1 piece of paper with rules and talking advice, 1 page to take notes on the person you talked with, one smaller paper on which you indicate whether you would like to date that person or not, and a pen.
Girl and guy sit on the opposite of each other and have 3 mins for talking. I enjoyed the talking, don't know about the others. The time just goes by real quickly, and it took me mostly by surprise when the 3 mins were up and the sound was made. On the table you had 3 electronic color-changing objects to set the mood: small candle, a round ball and a square. After 3 mins, the guys got up and went to the next girl.
At the end of it, I gave the small paper to them with my choices. They first let out the guys and then the girls. Once I was out, I told the person that I wanted to be contact by email rather than phone. I did not hung out afterward, and just went my own way.
after 2 days, the people send an email as to whether you got a match or not. Don't  know what is said if you get a match, since I did not had one. In the one where you have no match there is just generic, "I am sorry it is did not work out" sort of message.

im pretty sure that a lot of ppl went their own ways

i was in the 8:30 time slot
and we had 16 girls and 15 guys
i got matches
and basically they gave you the letter of the guy (so like, F or B or AA)
the first name of the guy and than either their phone number or email address
out of 6 matches, i got 2 wit email addresses and 4 with phone numbers XD

the sad/idiotic thing for me, is that the paper i had written my notes on?
i accidentally threw it away so some of the guys i actually dnt remember who they are specifically (sorry!! XD)
but it'll be interestin to see wat happens and stuff

They need to give more time to take notes...
The only notes I had for the one match I got was "Video games, cool guy."  because I had to rush with each note.
Which isn't helpful since I talked about video games with like ALL of the people.

haha i think it doesn't matter who contacts who first
but for the ones that i got phone numbers..
i feel SUPER SUPER awkward
if i were to call or text them up and be like..
"hey..so i was at fanime speed dating..do you remember me?" XD
so i really dont know what to do >_<

and the speed dating team needs to give us more time to write ntotes
3 minutes talking is fine
but like 20 seconds to write notes? not cool
