I always thought that it was just a pun based on "fan" and "anime," so it's for fans of anime.

I personally do not know the history of the name Fanime, however I have worked long enough to know that it means so much more now. We morph and adapt to what the fans want. Prime examples of this is maid cafe, rum party, the dojo and our many fully staffed departments that we put cash into. We also cater our large events like musicfest, video rooms, and dealers room directly and specifically to our fans comments and desires. This also does not take in account the many "experimental" programs that are always cropping up.

the short of it, is Fanime is truly about the fans and the staff is pleased to put on programming that is entertaining and fun for our members.
