Hey. I've been to the last 2 Cons (09' & 10'). We had pre-registered for 09', got the "Membership status" which means to me that we're in a group that would get told when to get in on 2010's event. Lo & behold, my friends and I, over X-mas 09's dinner was wondering why we haven't heard anything about the 10' Con and decided to check the site. We we're shocked to find out that we had missed the deadline for the "Pre-pre-registration" price that expired some where in Nov. 09'! Then, after we got our "Membership" back on X-mas day, in Jan of 10' we found out that all the convention rate rooms at the Marriott & Hilton were booked. We never got an E-mail or anything from "The Powers That Be" that this is the time to book your hotel rooms! The organizers have all our contact info, so they should have the courtesy of informing us when we need to register not only with then but also when the hotels as soon as possible!

We do have your e-mail addresses, however we only use those to resolve account issues. We prefer to use opt-in notification methods to disseminate information rather than send massive unsolicited e-mails to all our members that have registered.

The best way to be notified of such updates is to follow our twitter (www.twitter.com/fanimecon), regularly check our website (www.fanime.com), or our forums (here).

Please let us know if there are any other methods of notification you think would be effective in notifying our members of updates.
