So I was able to book a room last night with Ramada San Jose hotel. I was wondering if their is anything else I would need to do do. such as get in contact with the hotel. Or is everything set and done until the con. Also to find out check in time would you just call the hotel or is their even a check in time. Sorry This is my first time booking a room so far in advance. I'm only 18 and I've never had to deal with this kind of stuff before.

So was wondering if anyone has stayed here and what they thought of the hotel. Going to Fanime for the first time and I booked with this hotel as it was the cheapest and I am the only person paying for the room. Also if you have stayed there how far is the walk from their to where the convention is. I saw it said like 1.5 block so how long did it take you to walk. What is their parking like and what about the room.

I dont want to say to many good things about Ramada...then every one will go here...  BUT!  I will tell you of the 8 yrs in a row that I have used this hotel!  Truly Awesome!  The walk is short. Only takes 3-5mins. (depending on the lights and traffic).  Parking is FREE!!  Yes FREE!!

Also FREE continental breakfast. (Ur really going to want to eat whenever you can! And why not eat FREE?!!)
A pool. (to swim in, lounge by, and even take cosplay pics near!)
A Gym. (its to lat to get in shape for FANIME, but if your adrienaling is excited thens its a good place to go.  :P)
And very nice Rooms. And it doesnt really matter how nice the rooms are, you should only be sleeping and changing there really.  :P

All in all you made a good choice young one. And I hope to see you there!  We may even be right next to eachother!  lol

According to the housing website, check in for the Ramada is 12:00 with check out being 3:00. You can call the hotel directly in May to confirm your reservation and double check the times.

Don't call before May though, cause they won't have your information yet. We're reserving through a third party company and all of the details wont be transfered over until closer to con.

I'm staying at the Ramada for the first time this year too ^^ I booked for the same reason, the low price.

Plus since its a smaller hotel I'm hoping it won't be as hectic as the Marriott was(stayed there last year)

Are there really microwaves and fridges in the rooms? It's not a deal breaker if there aren't, just wondering if the hotel info was correct.

I have friends who stay at the Ramada every year, and I discovered last year the that Ramada is located across the street from a night club/bar.

Just fair warning to those of you staying there, you might encounter some things on your way back to the hotel. I walked my friend back last year and we ran across the street to avoid a bar fight on the sidewalk. That's not to say YOU will, but I'd just be prepared.

Otherwise, from what I understand it's generally worth it to stay there. The walk isn't too bad and the facilities are decent. :)

It is much quieter! You also dont have con goers running up and down the halls at 2am.
Yes there are Microwaves and fridges!
Theres also a pool and a small gym.

ALSO!!!  FREE continental BREAKFAST is Included!!  FREE food at a con is ALWAYS a good thing (for your wallet!!)

Free is one of my favorite words!

I hella can't wait now, all the stuff makes me wonder why more people don't want to stay here. But I guess that's better for those of us that do XD

Might just be staying here every year now, I don't really see the point in pay 40+ more a night just to be a block closer.

Runewitt

they didn't mention... Free Wifi.
i stayed at the ramada twice, would again, but this year i'm staying with different people, and we'll be at the hilton. The staff there are nicer than other hotels, even if you have a stupid question at 2am.. yes. i did.

I'm getting even happier about my hotel choice now XD I don't plan on being on my laptop very much(or even in the room for that matter), but it'll be nice to upload pics from the Con the same night I take them.

Just throwing this question out there. Would anyone who's stayed at the Ramada happen to know/remember about how big the mini fridges in the rooms are? Obviously they aren't huge (duh) but I don't want to end up bringing more food then would fit in it :x

And do they mind if you check in early? I know it says check in time is noon, but I'd like to get there as early as I can on friday to get the weekend started.

Runewitt

When I stayed there, they were like mini-bar fridges, less than 2x2. I'd call ahead about an early check-in, it shouldn't be a problem.

I dont remember there ever being anything already in the fridge, and if there is I would only think there are water bottles. (and you can just remove thoes.)

There are a few juice choices at the continental breakfast. Along with bread, muffins, yogurt, cereal, pancakes (I only remember that for one year), and a few mor like waffles and fruit.  Its quite a choice.  :P  And it comes with the room.

The only thing I ever got from the night clubs was weird stairs...it was weird...I saw cops a few times, but I have found it easy to avoid the clubs by cutting across the streets.  :P

mo, i meant by the size of the fridge. it's empty but small, like the inside is around the size of a milk crate.
