FanimeCon 2011 Karaoke Contest- Signup time and reminders

We are still on target to open signups this Sunday, 5/1, but the exact time is still up in the air. It will be either 1PM or 9PM.

We'll reply to this topic when the time has been confirmed.

We'll also take this opportunity to give a general reminder on online signups- when you sign up, you need to fill in all the fields. If you don't, your entry will not be accepted.

The most common mistakes are:

• Not entering your first and last name (there will be a separate optional space for fan names)
• Only listing one song (you need to have two- one for each round)
• No address or incomplete address

I'm hoping 9 cause I have to work 11:15 AM - 7 PM D: haha but I know I know, can't change it for one person but a lot of other people could be at work during 1 though. :O So hyped for the contest this year. >_<

My apologies, but we're going to have to push signups back a day or two.

One of the files I need is on an old computer, and I wont have access to it until Monday at the earliest.

Once we're ready, I will give 24 hours notice before signups begin.

You can change songs at check in. And yes, that's when you need to tell us.

what do you mean by one listing song? If the song list doesn't have the karaoke song I want to perform, can I bring it in a CD? I saw the rules that there is a preliminary and a finals, is there a limit to the time of the song? Sorry for asking alot of questions, it's my first time to enter a karaoke contest.

you have to list two songs during sign-ups
if they don't have the song in the karaoke lists, then you bring it in on a CD
thats fine

you just have to make sure to list 2 songs that are in the categories appropriate for the contest

don't worry, the two songs that I want to perform will be anime themes. is there a time limit to both songs? sorry for asking.

It is so that if you are chosen for the second round, they know you will be ready.  :D

it would be a bad idea if u sign up wit only one song and arent prepared for the final round should u get picked
and u cant have that kind of attitude
think that ur gonna get chosen so you can give ur best performance
but if u get chosen for the final round and u only had one song picked?
then ur frantically searching the last minute for a song that u might not have practiced or perfected

get it?

My work gets out at 11 PM >_< so yeah hoping for sometime around then or Wed since I don't have a late shift then haha man working at a movie theater = crap hours. -_-

If signups are during work days, it should be sometime really early in the morning, or really late at night, since most people will either be working away from home, or at school or class.
I personally hope it is after Wednesday. I have a major test to study for tomorrow. C:
