Hotel rates

Did prices go up from last time?  Back in January I reserved my room at the fairmont and it was around $89 a night.  Just now I tried to reserve a room there again but the lowest price is $199 a night.  Does it have something to do with tickets not being on sale yet?

Basically the hotels are still in negotiations about the discounted rates we will pay while staying for Fanime.  From what I've heard, places like the Marriott and Hilton aren't even letting people inquire about rooms because they're all being blocked off until they figure out how much they'll be charging that weekend.  For the Fairmont, though, I'm guessing they'll still have some rooms available for non-con goers that weekend, and that's what they'll be charging them.  So don't worry.

So should I get my room now or wait?  If I book the room now will I get the con price or will I have to pay the price the site says now?

You should wait. Con rates and availability will be posted in a few months. Right now, what is available (if anything) is everything that Fanime has NOT booked and will be at the full rate.

Will hotels really not be a up for a few months still? I don't know if you meant that literally or not, I just remembered them being up around the end of January last year I think so I was assuming for the same ballpark of time this year. I'm sure there's a lot going on that's out of anyone's hands that can keep pushing the date back so I'm sorry if I'm sounding like I'm nagging about it.

eh hotels went up last yr 1/14/11....so does a month and 3 days count as a few?? :)

That pretty much does count as a few months XD I'm just used to people saying that and meaning two or more months, thanks for the info though.

Ok so I don't have to worry about other people booking rooms and taking up spots?  Last year U got my room around the end of January but you never know if things will change so I just don't want say some non con goers to book rooms at the fairmont and then when the con rates come into place there be less rooms and I some how miss my chance.

Does anyone know the cheapest hotel? I want to either stay at the hiton or marriot this year 2012.

Between the two of those, Hilton was slightly cheaper last year.
