Badge refund or transfer

I was going to be coming to Fanime all the way from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, however for financial reasons I can't make it.  I already purchased my pre-reg badge and was curious if I could transfer the badge to one of my good friends that actually lives in San Jose.  If you guys would please consider this, It would make me feel like I didn't waste my money.

I would suggest e-mailing Registration (the sooner, the better!).

I didn't even consider emailing registration.
Thank you, I emailed them as soon as I read your post. 

Hopefully they can transfer it, as I don't really want my money back.  Just for it to not go to waste.

I would appreciate it if you could post back here saying if they either transferred or refunded because I am curious if they are willing to do this.
The official policy as the Registration page says:

Q: I cannot make it to FanimeCon 2012 anymore. Can I get a refund or give my membership to a friend?
A: Memberships are non-transferrable, and non-refundable as stated during checkout.

We do not offer transfers or refunds. In certain EXTREME cases we do have certain measures, but those are rarely offered and handled on a case by case basis.
