I'm just curious to know what people are talking about when they mention these, along with Bishie and Otaku.

Ecchi - the manga version of hentai - Er.. I at least think so. @_@

I prefer my Japanese/English Put downs book that mah b/f has let me borrow for well over a year. I never use them, but they're funny to read.. I'll probably bring it to fanime if anyone wants to take a peek at it.
One of the funny ones is calling someone an old hag that looks like a badger.. or something like that.. You know, the Outlandish sorta stuff. :p
Clicky my Art Pwease?

ip136: Close. Ecchi is a word used for anime/manga that's sexy and risque, but not quite hentai.

The word "Ecchi" is really how the Japanese pronounce the letter "H", short for "Hentai".

KimaLucifer

ecchi is not just for anime and manga >:O

any type of perversion is related to that word.

-and for all the guys out there:

Hentai was origially a term that described gay men. Hen being the word odd and tai being attitude. :3

As long as I'm here, I'll add another term:

Seinen (is that the right spelling?) = manga/anime that's typically meant for older teens, young adults. *Yeah! Berserk!*
