***UPDATE JULY 2017***As of July 2017, I have decided to step back from hosting most of my gatherings (this one included) until further notice. It's not that I'm "burnt out" which I am a little bit but its mostly because of several reasons which include:

1) Training others to host these gatherings for me (as well as get others interested in hosting other gatherings)
2) Participating in other events/departments for Fanime (I am part of CWF - Cosplay Wrestling Federation and due to our rapid growth, I will be focusing a lot more of my time and efforts there)
3) Wanting to get these "gathering hours" counted as part of volunteer hours (if we are doing just as much work to contribute content to the con, I feel like these hours should be included. Its just so much easier to have these hours counted when we need a total of 20 hours for the entire weekend for badge reimbursement and gatherings usually go for 1 - 2 hours long).

FOR NOW, THIS GATHERING DOES NOT HAVE AN OFFICIAL HOST UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE! If you'd like to be a host of this gathering or have questions about gatherings in general, please reach out to me! Thanks!

Disclaimer: Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gathering/Event this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed.

Day: SATURDAY (THIS IS FOR THE DAYTIME GATHERING ONLY)

Time: 4 PM - 5 PM

MP (Meeting Place): I always check in to the gatherings table. Otherwise, if you already know where to go, go ahead to the place.

For questions/concerns - "...does this series/costume count? etc." - just post it here and I'll let you know. As long as it's not lewd or of the adult nature, then it should be fine!

OH MY GOD this is a great idea *____* so many [male] idol series i'd love to see the cosplays of in one place aaaa! this really makes me wish I had more time to do the Utapri Haruka cos I've been planning

in any case, will definitely pass this around to friends who I know are cosplaying idols at Fanime!

Thank you friends for all your help and support. I honestly got the idea of this thing from you all and my Fanimaid girls :3 BTW, to keep in the spirit of all things idol, let's make sure to invite our Wotegei friends to this gathering.

I will also try to answer questions in an interview kind of sort of way lol (I already got a few questions lined up lol).

FAQ #1: Why an all idol gathering?
Answer: The easiest answer I would give is that we can pair up by color and take pictures with each other!

Yes! All this counts! Any anime that even has a point in the series where the characters wear idol outfits count (example: that one episode in Beyond the Boundary)

idk yet whether or not I'd be able to make it, but I wanted to say that I really like the idea of this gathering! As the host of the Vocaloid gathering, it's nice to see something Vocaloid cosplayers can go to on the weekend as before we've had people unable to attend our Friday gathering due school/work/etc on weekdays.

Also I love the idea you mentioned in your other post about pairing everyone up by color! idk if you mean to do shots in order of colors (all the reds, then all the blues, the yellows, pinks, etc, etc) or just order everyone at once in rainbow order (or both if time permits!), but color coordinated shots are fun!

(If the gathering happens to be anytime after 2pm on Sunday, I might be able to drop by in something, hmm...

)

I'm also going to be at the Idolmaster gathering on Sunday, but I'd like this gathering to be at a later time. I have another idol character in mind I'd like to push up for this event, so 4pm would be enough time to change (it looks like there's nothing else at the time so far). I guess it depends when your panel is. But I'll do my best to go anyway!

Yeah, i'm going to be at the Vocaloid gathering as well, but hoping to be able to use my Yuzuki cosplay more cause i'll have actual speakers installed (whee!)
I'm going to be hosting a panel at 4pm on sunday, so hopefully sometime after 6/7pm

It looks like the 5 pm - 6 pm slot is favorable but I wonder if it's dark enough by then to get some light.

I'm cosplaying THE iDOLM@STER and attending the iM@S gathering that's also on this selected day so this kind of works. 5-6 is what I consider dinner time, but maybe I can work around that. Also, I'm leaving Sunday night (mind you what constitutes night is still a little fuzzy) so any later probably won't work.

If I'm not able to go, I'm not able to go. It's not the end of the world, so don't feel bad if you have to side with everyone else over me, but I would love to at least see this so I hope it works out.

Hey everyone! So as an update, this gathering has been submitted - I'm just waiting to get a sure confirmation... Cosplay Gatherings did close submissions on the 15th but as of now, no final list has been fully set and released on it's FB page. I know that list is coming out soon because it actually did go out like last night in a post on FB but the link is being changed again (and is unavailable at the moment).

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR ATTENDING!

This is Angelica, the host of this gathering. First and foremost, thank you everyone - cosplayers, guests, photographers for taking the time to attend such a new and unique gathering.

I want to personally thank the Overseas Wotagei Research Group (https://www.facebook.com/kaiwoken/), Zeta Flare P (https://www.facebook.com/zetaflare/?fref=tsi) and all the manager-sans/producer-sans for always coming out to support all idols and idol performances!

I plan on working with the gatherings department more next year so as to implement new strategies, not only in this gathering, but in the other gatherings happening around Fanime.

G9 is a great spot and I hope to use the space again next year.

I WILL MAKE THIS GATHERING LATER IN THE EVENING SO IT'S NOT HOT AND WE CAN USE OUR GLOWSTICKS MORE!

Many people also liked the idea of hosting this gathering like an Idol concert/show. We basically had a crowd that was willing to listen to us and they loved seeing us dance and sing so maybe next year, I'll make sure to bring speakers and what not.

Can't wait to see everyone next year!

*BUMP* I'm here now. Revamped and ready to go for 2017!

This gathering will follow the style of typical gatherings with photoshoots etc. If there is interest, we can have a music/concert kind of thing. There will be a PA system available.
