Episode 12 is the awesome.  My two favorites in an amazing performance.  I gotta say, this is probably the best animated episode yet.  And that's saying a lot considering the consistently high production on the show.

And yes, HARUHI. ROCKS. HARD. [although, I thought Nagato's seiyuu sang that song... Hirano's voice usually isn't that deep...] Mah, either way, Lantis definately wins by creating those two songs. Wonder what the sheet music is like... [probably made of awesome, I bet]
I DLed the maxi CD that the two songs ["God knows..." and "lost my music", as well as "Koi no Mikuru Densetsu" -full version-] a day before the a.f.k. release, so I was even more estatic to hear them animate this song being performed. Oh if only more anime companies can do that~ KyoAni FTW. ;o [they're performance animation seemed really on par and accurate to an actual performance. Just marvelous]

Upon (several) repeated viewings, I paid more attention to the actual instrument playing.  It appears that they must have used extensive reference footage or something because, while I don't play any instruments, the hand movements basically appear "correct" to me.  Just astonishing really; especially for a TV series.

That would be cool. Even cooler if they are dressed as haruhi and yuki.

I take it you play drums and piano... Though its not unheard of for other band members to sing as well... They just can't do as much visual performance/service. (At least drums...) I'm soprano. o(>.<)O

All the more reason for Kyoto Animation to continue the series or make a second season. At this rate, it seems they'll have to, and it's not like there's not novel material to back it up. Maybe there'll be a break in between for Kannon, but Haruhi stuff (CDs, novels, etc.) everywhere has been selling like crazy, so it would be absurd not to continue it.
