Now I think I remember seeing a few dogs at Fanime last year. Does this mean other animals would be allowed as well?
My service dog is the big white fluffy one. Please help us help children by sharing photos of him so we can go to more children's hospitals!

I don't recall seeing any animals last year, but I don't think that there're supposed to be any pets/animals of any kind inside the buildings, unless they're seeing-eye dogs.

And then I never talk to them and forget who they are.

This is a question for the hotels and convention center, rather than fanime. Im fairly sure that we, as a convention, would not mind most animals (within reason, no gators or elephants or something please <_<) as long as they are VERY well behaved, especially in crowds and around children; dont make ANY mess and not much noise; and you are VERY attentive. I am even MORE certain that we are not responsible in any way for what may happen to your animal (or you, for that matter) should something horrible happen as a result of it's presence, particularly if it stems from your own inattentiveness or irresponsibility. But, again...the final word doesnt come from me, or even fanime staff. I have seen dogs in the past, but I believe that they were all from staff members who lived nearby and did not keep them at the site overnight. I would HIGHLY reccomend asking the hotel and convention center staff about this, especially if you want to keep your pet with you overnight in the room.

Here are the websites for:

The San Jose McEnery Convention Center - http://sanjose.org/meetings/facilities/convention.php

The San Jose Marriott - http://www.sanjosemarriott.com/

and

The San Jose Hilton - http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/SJCSHHF-Hilton-San-Jose-California/index.do

I would ALSO reccomend dropping a line to [email protected] just in case we DONT allow animals, even if the site does.

Hope I've helped ^_^

I know that the Hilton allows you to have dogs, you just have to pay extra to keep them at the hotel.
