May 3, 2007 (Cypress, Ca) – Bandai Entertainment, INC. and Kadokawa Pictures USA announced today that a special event to celebrate the release of the first volume of the English language version of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya will take place on the release date of May 29th in Los Angeles at the special collectors shop Anime Jungle starting at 7pm.

Howcome Bandai hasn't contacted Fanime about doing something like this, seeing that Fanime is the closest to the release date (May 29th)?

Since this is such a huge release, chances are that Fanime won't be able to arrange it to be moved up or have an exclusive release party.

So, we'll just have to wait until the tuesday after Fanime. >_<
