Hey guys, you kinda locked my thread without the point of it being answered! Next time, mods, read the OP before locking a thread when an answer comes up, as the answer may not be to the question that was asked.

What's happening to the DJs? Will the dance just be a winamp playlist or something lame? OK so you've told us it's still happening, but will the dance really be a dance if it's just some guys laptop? What's the deal here.

So, my friend was going to DJ at the dance, and, a couple days ago, he told me he wasn't going to, and I was like why, and he was like I got this email:

Hi everyone,

Well, as you all know, due to the lack of our budget, Nessie and I had no choice but to cancel the dance. Again I do understand that many of you had things in mind to play or had even looked forward these many months to be apart of the Dance Department. Your all more than welcome to still attend and see just what kind of sound they plan on having without us. Perhaps next year, it serves as a rude awakening and how important it was for the Dance Department to have their budget much sooner.

For all you DJs I had recruited for this year, I will not forget you guys. We as a whole were treated very wrong so when there is another event and it's very much confirmed with all the "bugs out" of it, I will contact you all to see if you would like to at least play. It's sort of my way of making things up for what has happened to us all. Yes, I am upset about the entire deal with our budget. But now, what's done is done.

So um, what's the deal here?

So, what is it you wanted to now? Why your friend isnt DJing? Ask him/her. Originally, it seemed like you were indirectly asking whether the dance was happening or not and that was answered. I know if you scope the Live Programming forum there is some general information about which DJs are going to play, however a tentative lineup is yet to be posted with times.

On the other thread, if i remember correctly, you asked whether the dance was happening or not. we said it was. I'm not sure what DJ Caen's (thats whos DJing now. I hear the other DJ cancelled) music setup is. I'm sure its going to be fun whatever it is. Relax, and don't be picky. A dance is a dance, we should be hapy we are having one.

1) He said it was sent to all the DJ's, and it's certainly written that way.

2) It wasn't cleared up, part of it was.

3) A dance is a dance, but some geek with bad tastes' winamp playlist and a floor isn't a dance. And ya, t's happened at conventions before.

I'm not being frantic, or picky, or anything else you might needlessly read into my words, take them at face value, you'll do much better not making assumptions.

2. You never specified which parts you needed clearing.

I didn't get to stay for the dance at AOD last year, was it bad? thats too bad. Hopefully they will learn from their mistakes. I dont know what kind of music specifically DJ Caen is playing. I could ask her if she has a list but she probably doesnt.

OMG.... that dance was a huge joke!  I thought the AOD dance at 2005 wasnt good but AOD2006 wit a smaller place and a ipod speakers?  It was soo bad that me and couple friends of ours advertise our room party.  The a lots of people came for the room party and the dance ended very quickly.

I think thats pretty enough wit the he say and I know stuff.  Ryu confirmed it from the fanime meeting that dance is happening and you're not satisfied?  Lets not jump to conclusions that the dance is gonna suck as long they have huge speakers for everyone at the dance to hear.  Its already been cleared just like most of the people hear said.

I already answered that though to the best of my ability. DJ Caen will be djing, I think I linked her earlier or in one of the other dance threads, or you can just search for her profile on myspace, but I cant go find the link again because I'm at school and myspace is blocked. x.x So go search her to hear one of her songs that she mixed.

DJ Caen has some good music. It's going to be techno, the sound system is supposedly much better than AOD which I hear was crap, and unless DJ Caen feels like posting her music choices.... I dont know what exactly is going to be played.

Its up to the DJ whats going to be played, so you're just going to have to chill and wait to hear whats going to be played there.

I just wanted to let you dance happy Fanime peeps know that Sac Anime Con's DJ... DJ Caen... will be doing Fanime's Dances (yes that is all of them) this year. I know that Autum (DJ Caen) is very much into Eurobeat, beatbox, techno, & trance, but is also a cosplayer and con attendee like the rest of us! Expect some game, anime, and DDR music to filter it's way into the line up too! DJ Caen is NOT an IPOD DJ! So come check out what Sac Anime Fans already know.... DJ CAEN ROCKS THE HOUSE!

So... apparently I had an account here already >_>;


I figure I should prolly post as I seem to be the center of much mystery and drama.

My name is Autumn / DJ Caen and I will be DJ'ing the dance(s) this Fanime. While I will be the main DJ, I'll more then likely be relieved for a while, seeing as how I need my breaks too :p

For those of you worried bout it being a winamp dance, don't. I have 4 years experience mixing and have enough music (and taste) to keep us goin for days :)

And don't diss laptops, I happen to store all my music on one and use Virtual DJ to mix >_> Better then carrying around pounds of CD's / vinyl.

Erm... i dunno really much else to say that hasn't been said about me xD

Oh, the sound system... I myself personally oversaw the ordering of the equipment, and believe me, these are NOT Ipod speakers :) There will be a total of about 4000-5000 Watts of sound in there plus a small light system and possibly a video screen(s).

This will be one Fanime dance to not miss :) I promise.
