Warnings? Let's see...

If you glomp me, you are in risk of me punching you in the face, kicking you in the balls (given that you own a pair), or beating you down with whatever I have with me at the time.

If my photo is taken without my permission and do not delete it upon my request, you are in risk of me punching you in the face, kicking you in the balls, or beating you down with whatever I have with me at the time.

If you're loud and/or annoying, you are in risk of me punching you in the face, kicking you in the balls, or beating you down with whatever I have with me at the time.

If your friends attack me, you (and your friends) are in risk of me punching you in the face, kicking you in the balls (even if you don't own a pair), or beating you down with whatever I have with me at the time.

Anyone wanna hang out at Fanime? :D

unlike resorting to violence...

the golden rule applies, please treat others the way you want to be treated.

this means asking permission for basic gestures such as: glomps, hugs, photos, complimenting boys and girls. and polite constructive criticism on cosplays.

other than that if violence becomes and issue, Rovers and/or Exec Staff will be poised to ban you from the Convention.

Play nice, have fun. Enjoy. Basically, please dont be stupidly irresponsible.
Be mindful of you actions ladies and gents.  :)

Enjoy the Con
-T minus 7 months and counting.

I agree with Jerry as well. If you do resort to physical violence, for whatever means, we will get Rovers who will then take your badge, then hand you over to the San Jose Police Department to be escorted out and be banned from the con along with any charges that will be brought upon you.

You cause drama and violence at the con, you get handed over and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

The con is there to have fun and not a place for drama or physical violence.

Thank you.

&&&&&&& anyone wanna hang out at fanime 08 with me and my friends xD cuz yeah i really want to meet new people [[ im 13 and so are my friends ]]

With a person who wants to "Stalk" people and yell and be a jerk?  Hmmm....let me think real hard about it....still thinking.....No.
Sometimes I'm glad I became a teacher.  Other times I wish I had simply become a ninja.

Can we get some of that arrest & banning action aimed at the glompers as well?  I'm pretty sure that unwanted glomps break various laws regarding unwanted contact and should be actionable.

despite best efforts some things are unavoidable.

but again, just keep a calm perspective and enjoy the convention, thats what everyone is here for.

It seems that glompers and fanboys/girls have been getting lots of negative press these days so dont let a few bad eggs ruin it for everyone namely the Con itself.

if you want to keep the Con around (and im sure most of us do)

Just enjoy yourself within reasonable and lawful means.

You know, instead of blatant violence, I tend to stick to using subtle threats and intimidation. I tend to get the same amount of work done, and nobody gets mussed up.
It all really depends how well the lies are told...

Actually, I just had an idea in regards to letting people know about the legal ramifications of glomps and undesired contact.

Y'know those little comics that ran through the bottom of the '07 program guide (provided you've either read the online one or got yours in the mail)? What if there was just one big one that took up one/two pages in the guide that detailed the basics of getting what you wanted from other people (in terms of glomps, autographs, pics, etc). For example, we could parody "Good Idea Bad Idea" from the Animaniacs, or even Strong Bad's "Hygiene" video from homestarrunner.com. At the end there could be, like, this cop character that just gives this blurb of text about the legal ramifications of glomping someone that doesn't want it.

...wow. I really like this idea. 0_o
Haven't been here much since '09. I said some stupid, stupid things before (and after) that.

It should be warned that I am lonely, and that if you speak to me at all you risk me following you around like a lost puppy.

And if you give me a treat there will be no getting rid of me at all.

Jun-Watarase

Ooookay, my previous post got taken way too seriously. But I am fairly sure, those are the thoughts of many victims at cons.

Golden rule and restraining orders don't apply at conventions. You can be a good guy and politely ask for your hugs and glomps, but nonetheless you will be hunted. *squinty eyes*

Sorry but as long as you are on public property any person has the right to take your photo.  They maintain all rights to said photo and do not have to obtain your permission.  They are free to do with this photo as they see fit.  The only case in which this doesn't apply is if the photo could be used as libel.

Don't like this?  Don't go outside.

Obviously most photographers will delete a photo if you ask them, but legally speaking they are not required to as long as the subject was on public property.  If you are on private property photographers have to obtain your permission before they take a photo.

Quite true. When you are out in public, there are no laws to prevent someone from taking a picture, and unfortunately, Paparazzi take full advantage of that fact.  But that aside, It would be more polite to ask.
