I moved out with my first bf. (BAD IDEA)
We were both not ready for it. XD~!

2006
I was moving out with my two best friends. One of them had been my friend for 6 years and we were pretty much family. I put in a transfer for work in Oregon, and my two friends would pick me up after I got the transfer. Two weeks later, I find out that they dont want to come get me and all my belongings are up there with them. I nearly lost my job and was crying in the managers' office. Having to explain what was happening, and call the manager in Oregon. I get back to wook about a month later, and after that I FINALLY get my belongings back.

I also lost a my very close friend to a girl that was only 15, and he was 20. After 4 months he comes back, and apologizes to me. For the sake of having been so close, I try to keep in touch. He's not around much anymore though.

Last year.

I always got left with cleaning the house, doing the dishes, and whatever else. My rent money never went to the bills, it went to whatever the other two fuckwads wanted for funcash. When I started sending my check to our landlord they got pissy.

I was stuck with babysitting their kid, and everytime I tried to instill some sort of appropriate bahavior for the kid...I'd get snapped at. Then the mother of the son got pegged for drugs and had to stay with us. SHE accused me of trying to take the wife's place and would tell the neighbors that I was sleeping with the husband.

@_@

Now, this was a HOUSE with a seperate room and I needed to be closer to work and my therapist becuase I couldn't afford the 45-1hr drive just to the damn town. I minded my own damned business, and at the time the wife was my good friend. I helped the get into the house, I helped her get some bills paid. When needed I watched her kid.

The mother started snapping at me, telling me I needed to leave, and tried to say I was a bitch to her. The woman had threatened me on several occasions, which for the sake of friendship, I never called the police on her. Then my 'friends' started to let the mother have her way and would say that I wasn't doing my part in the house.

This circulated around the other neighbors, and at my work.  I finally ended up leaving in october. Couple months later a I get a call from this 'friend' saying she was so sorry and that I was right and her mother in law is the bitch. I told her that I told her this before. Thanks for the apology.

^this was the story I made the comment about homacidal tendancies, and had to go to therapy. There is a BUNCH of details left out, that I don't wish to share.

Here's one a little closer to home:

I still live at home with my parents basically my closest room mate is my preppy, anime hating, ganguro, cheerleader. younger sister her and i have seperate rooms but shes a nightmare even then! she listens to the TV all  hours of the  the day (really loud), she tells me to turn my shitty music down ( which is j-rock and anime music) so she can listen to Reggae tone , rap and all her  crappy bands  loud.
i remember this one time i was sitting in my room she  brings  home her latest "customer" ( i forgot to mention my sister's a slut she never  brings home the same guy twice)   she  goes in her room  and a few minutes later i can hear the sounds of her screwing the guy
she didnt bother closing the door ( by the way if ur wondering where my parents were they were out of town) needless to say i puked
whenever she  brings  home her little  customers i yell " Close your fucking door i dont want to hear you working!"

Lol, this isn't really a roommate story. It just sounds like the typical conflict between siblings you find in most stereotypical homes. I think it's just a difference in taste and personality, over her actually actively being a crappy "roommate". The difference between a roommate and a family member is... well, they aren't family. They don't have this unconditional obligation and bond with you to not screw you over. I think that difference is significant, and possibly part of the criteria that makes such stories possible.

Most bad roommate stories can be taken to court, and a lot of us on the thread have obviously had experience with such people. But as for family, or more specifically, your sister... eh, she's not really doing anything wrong. She just differs in taste, personality, and lifestyle. You just don't agree with it.

Just curious though, how is she ganguro? o_0

isnt the point, to have 'good' business to have repeat business?

must show how 'lousy' business can be, if their not repeat customers.

Haha, agreed. If she wasn't good in bed, then she wouldn't be getting so many "customers".
she dyed her hair blonde she wears bright make up really bright loud clothes and she has reaaaaally expensive tastes

Er, well... that alone doesn't exactly make her ganguro. In any case, I honestly doubt she's that bad of a person, but I haven't met her, so... I'm still fairly sure it's just two siblings disagreeing with each other, though. Once you move out and live on your own, it won't be a problem anymore. For all you know, you might just get along with her then.

After reading all this I guess this is going to sound very tame.
Back when I was in college I had 3 roommates. The toilet in the bathroom got a little "dirty".
I won't go into details of who did it and how bad it was, some things are best left to the imagination.
After a "certain" amount of time passed we agreed something should be done.

To be honest what happened was one of my roommate's girlfriend visited one day and got totally grossed out.
I guess she must of told him to clean his sh!t or she won't visit again. That's my theory of what really happened.
(what would men do without women in this world?)
Anyways so there's an agreement the toilet should be cleaned but who would do it?

We all played a game of rock - paper - scissors.
That was the most intense game of rock - paper - scissors I have ever played in my life....and probably ever will!  ;D
I did NOT have to clean the toilet.

My "roomate" was actually my father.  The thing is I was the only one with a job or any sense of responsiblity.    He didn't pay a bill for YEARS, yet he got the master bedroom.  I purchased all of the groceries, he ate 80% of them.  I paid for power, cable, phone...everything.  He made no contributions to the home what so ever.  And BOY did he stink!  Wow, a combination of B.O> and a life of smoking filterless cigarettes.  Come to find out the deal he set up with my Uncle for rent was total B.S.  Thirteen days before Christmas my Uncle evicted us.

I spent YEARS of my life paying for EVERYTHING for him.  I got him a GREAT job with the school district, that he lost in days.  I sacrificed things that were very important to me so that he could keep sitting on his butt, smoking cigarettes, eating all of my food playing poker on the internet.  When everything went down in December he pulled every trick in the book, hoping I would continue to pay for his existance.  I paid for his room for more then a month, then he wound up in a homeless shelter, and made me feel like it was my fault.  He's still playing head games trying to get me to pay for his existance.

I never realized how much this affected my health until I finally got moved into my own place.  Thank Goodness for my apartment, no one to answer to!
Sometimes I'm glad I became a teacher.  Other times I wish I had simply become a ninja.

Wow your uncle evicted you guys? Were they not really close or something? My uncles/aunts would've been like...oh well he's family.
That really sucks when family totally tries to take advantage of you that way. Especially dead-beat dads! Where's your dad now? Still at the homeless shelter?

Last I heard he finally got a job and was staying in a weekly hotel.  I haven't spoken to him for 2 months.  Don't get me wrong, my uncle is a JERK of stellar proportions.  But a lot of the situation comes back to my Dad.  He was lying to my Uncle and spending the rent money I gave him on cigarettes and his crack whore girlfriend.  It worked out well though...I'm very happy now in my own place.   ;D
