Ep. 8: The bread scene was amazing!

When did this thread turn into a culture of witless comedians?

Series I'm up to date on: Akane-iro, CLANNAD AS, Index, Kannagi, Shugo Chara! Doki!, Tales of the Abyss, Toradora!, Yozakura Quartet

Take that as a gauge of the series I find interesting enough to be watching so far.  There are still a few series I haven't gotten around to checking out at all cause I've been lazy. XD;

Of the lot, I say what I'm most enjoying is CLANNAD AS, Kannagi, Index, and Shugo Chara! Doki!.  CLANNAD is more KEY, which is always great.  Kannagi is a fun watch with some cute girls.  Index is not spectacular, but it has an intriguing setting and is an interesting enough watch.   I recently caught up to Shugo Chara!, so Doki! is just a natural continuation of that.  ToA is rehash of the game and it's not a bad adaptation, but it's not like it's anything new.  Akane-iro is a mediocre galge-to-anime adaptation.  Exactly my kind of series.  Toradora! is another Kugimi series and that already implies "enjoyable, but not amazing" to me.  So far, it's been living up to that.  And Yozakura Quartet....  The way I like to describe it is there are two reasons why I'm watching the series.  And there happens to be an episode sandwiched between them.

Overall, it was both a pretty interesting and uninteresting year in some respects.  Nanoha should have won. ; ;

Ep. 5:

There's hella new material not from the game in this arc.  On one hand, I think it's cool to get exposition, but on the other, I think the game's story was enjoyable in its simplicity.  There was a charm in her character in how you'd get to know her, but you didn't really know any details about her past; just an overview.  It kept a certain mystique that I think kept her and her scenario more charming.  I'm not sure if I want all this story.

I'll still watch it though.

I hear I mayhaps have missed some of her scenario in the game?  I think I'll have to go back and play it to see.

Kagami triumphs over Nagisa.  By a healthy margin: 200 votes.  She's bulldozing over everyone.  Can't say I mind though cause she's great.

Ep. 4 was great.  I thought Youhei was a cool character already and this episode just makes me respect him more.  The type of friendship between him and Tomoya isn't exactly new, but it is still moving in its own way.

With the way things are going, we may be seeing a Hiiragi sister battle in finals.

And Nagisa wins over Tamaki.  I expected about as much.  Tamaki put up a good fight though.

And apparently there are a lot more paths/minipaths in the game than the anime made it seem.

A lot of paths.  The Misae path was pretty touching.  I still have to get around to getting the Sunohara/Mei arc someday.

I think this year's batch of quarter finalists, taken as a whole, are better than last year's.  Aside from the obvious lack of Nanoha, which sucks big time, I like the selection.  Forgetting Fuuko and Tsukasa, I like Kirino, Tamaki, Kagami, and Tomoyo.  And whoever wins, I can agree with either Hayate or Nagisa (even though Hayate is decidedly better, IMO).
