At this point I'm wondering what kind of person would name their child after a fascist dictator. Besides, when you ask for a swastika to be included on your child's birthday cake, you know something is up, even if the name wasn't intended to be racist >>. You could probably get away with a swastika symbol in India, but I'm doubtful about it in America.

This discussion actually reminds me of this girl in my middle school who was named Jennifer Lopez, though I'm thinking it was more coincidental than intentional.

Guys who wear too much Axe. Yuck!

There was this guy in one of my classes who would spray that all over his stuff, and I happened to be sitting next to him while he did all that :-\.

What do you think would happen if there was no gravity on Earth anymore?

What makes it even more amazing is that they can still do this, even with this horrid recession, thus making it even more amazing than ever before.

To add on the tickets, they sometimes give them out as prizes in certain events, like Stage Zero, game shows, at-con contests, tournaments, etc.

You only don't need a badge if you're only going there just to watch anime or any asian films at the screening rooms. Everything else is pretty much badged.

Actually sometimes you do get a badge check at films and anime. Either that or i have horrid luck

Huh... That was new.

Then again, I haven't really gone into screening rooms that much let alone panels so yea. lol. I think either way, as long as people are even on convention property, it's pretty much easier to have their badge exposed. I don't see why badge checks would be a problem as long as you're responsible about wearing it around and keep it safe when/if you take it off in the hotel or wherever you plan to head over to for sleep, otherwise, what was the point in spending $35-$55 on it if no one checks for it when necessary?

It actually makes me wonder who would take someone's life just to get a discounted item. I actually heard that the Toys R Us shooting was possibly gang-related.

This thread actually reminds me of the "Would you kill a man for anime?" thread, in a weird sort of way. :-\

For me, I can see the general age being around 15+. I've had friends who were 15 by con day and didn't have problems finding a department to work under. In general, I think the older you are, the more likely you are to find a department(there are a couple that are 16+, a good amount that are 18+, etc.).

I don't know what the printing dept's age requirement is, you're better off e-mailing them for that(print-at-fanimeDOTcom).

Either way, you and your parent/guardian get that beautiful piece of paper to sign. *remembers those*  ::)

I just found out a gigantic package reached my home yesterday. It's too bad I don't get to open it until tomorrow :[.

Do you think you will ever attempt to swim down the Panama Canal?

Doesn't it make you glad that you weren't trampled or shot at during Black Friday?

Did you hear about the bombing attacks on Mumbai?

Doing anything for Black Friday?

Have you also heard about the projected store closings? How does it make you feel?

If you could any type of sea creature, what would you be?

Hmm... the semester is coming to a close, so I might have some more time freed up.

It just depends which area of San Jose we meet up at and when. Other than that, I'm interested. :]

I heard all the Linens and Things stores already closed this summer(I could just be thinking of the California stores, but meh).

The Circuit City closing saddens me though. Better customer service than Frys, yet cheaper than Best Buy >>. I personally don't see the point in having a Sharper Image store since hardly anyone buys from that store. It's only good for window shopping at best.

I find it HECKA FUNNY that there were some new Steve and Barry's stores that just opened up in San Jose/Milipitas recently and now they're closing it up.

And yeah, Pacific Sunwear = PacSun.

Yeap. That's a mighty fine economy alright.

Ideas and Suggestions / Re: Rooms: Maybe a room theme....

Is this the place where you post ideas and suggestions?

I could swear it is....

Well there's nothing wrong with suggesting stuff IMO, but just because someone suggests it doesn't mean it's always feasible. For example, I could suggest that we get one of those moon bouncing things in every single room at the con, but if it can't be implanted at the con for logistical reasons, financial reasons, liability reasons, or whatever, then we can either look for a way in which the idea can be incorporated without violating the rules of the SJCC or that of the city of San Jose or state of CA or we have to scrap the idea because the problems outweigh the benefits of said suggestion.

But nonetheless, I'm pretty sure staff appreciates whatever suggestions or ideas you have, no matter how realistic or absurd as they may sound.

Thanks.

Can I go off the 08 prices as a general guide or is that remotely accurate at all?

It should give you a ballpark, but some wierd things are happening this year at the hotels so it may be diff.

Should I blame the economy or Ebner for this? *undecided* :[
