What's the non-mailing deadline?

I don't have a specific date yet, but try to get it in before May 15th as a general date would be good.

K&K4ever - Your picture is dinky.  It might look really bad if you want to stick with it.

Before I choose my picture, I'd like to confirm a couple of examples.
Would 520x800 be a good size?
Would 800x450 be a bad size?
I'm just asking.

The badges will most likely be vertical.. so a 800x450 image would be be cropped down to 330x450 which will be all sorts of fugly when it's printed.

Nia from Gurren Lagann >O  FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I agree with Kamina's death though.  Heartbreaking as it was, Simon could not have moved forward and develop as an independent character if he's always following Kamina's footsteps from behind.

Misa from Deathnote should've died when they introduced her character >X

Girliest AND Manliest: Jojo's Bizzare Adventure

Never before had I imagined that I would watch epic bone shattering GARest of GAR fights alongside manly group hugs weeping together and Jonathan flinging himself on his Victorian bed sobbing that his friends don't like him anymore because of that big meanie, Dio.

I couldn't stand Outlaw Star in Japanese.  Gilliam just sounds... weird.
Golden Boy and Dead Leaves is HILARIOUS in English.  There are way too many memorable quotes from the dub of those two.  You there! YOU SHIT TOO MUCH >O DEATH SENTENCE!

I grow more attached to a series if it is localized in a good dub.  There's something about hearing the characters in my own language helps me identify with them more.  Watching Elicia from FMA
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
was the most heartbreaking thing I've ever watched.

What kind of badges are we talking about? Laminated photo paper, or like pvc id cards?

New thread here.. http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,12075.0.html

To answer your question, laminated photo paper.  PVC ID cards require a special printer that I don't have the budget to invest in.... yet.

It's time for Fanime Forum Badges again!  Keep your eye on this first post for updates.

Here is the previous thread.  I'll copy most of the Q&A from that since it hasn't changed much.  You can take a
look at last year's badges here.

Tsubasa's hard at work making a new design for you all.  Be sure to thank him (or pester him with ideas :> )

After I made your badge, you can do one of the following.
- Paypal me $1 and pick up your badge at Fanime
- Go to Fanime and pick up your badge for $1

$1 is for materials cost.

What I need from you:
-Your fan name (if it is different from your forum name)
-A high resolution picture of whatever you want.  Anything larger than 1200 resolution is fine.  600 is really pushing it.  Any less than that and you'll have a fuzzy badge.

Q. Why do this?
A. It's a fun way to uniquely identify Fanime Forum members, plus I've always liked having a custom badge rather than just something the con gives you.  After a couple years, it just became a tradition.

Q. What dimension/size do you need the pictures at?
A. As large as you can possibly get.  For the most part, I will resize and crop down to the proper size, but it's important that you get the highest resolution possible because upscaling does wonderfully bad things to most pictures.  As a general rule, try to get something bigger than 600 pixels across.

Q. What happens if you don't find a picture?
A. This is possibly the funnest/creepiest thing I do.  If I don't have a specific picture from you, I start researching your profile and previous posts to try to ascertain what kind of person you are and what picture you would like the most. >:3  It sounds totally creepy in that stalker-y kinda way, but I find it pretty fun figuring out things about people.

Q. How much am I charging?
A. Probably $1 for printing and laminating costs.  If you happen to work at a printing store and can do such things for free *nudge nudge wink wink*, the badge price will drop to $0.  These are just materials fees.  The largest cost is laminating.

Q. Who can get one?
A. Anyone at all.  Just make a post voicing your interest and make sure you're on the list maintained on the first page.

Q. How can I voice my interest?
A. You can either make a post in this thread, message my through the forum, or send me an email at email[at]suspi.net

Q. Where can we pick it up?
A. Oh god, this has been a mess every year.  We'll figure out a better system this year.  I'm thinking about doing badge runs in batches and offer the option of mailing them to people.

I will be back! ..to make more badges.  I plan on making a post once I find Tsubasa.

All but 8 were given out last year on my end.  I don't know how many were missing from other people.

@rude32  I believe Ryu has your badge.

I've been tossing around this idea for a while now, and I'm wondering what you all think.

A bunch of people dressed up from TF2 playing dodgeball/capture the intel.

It would be a turn based game to allow for the differences in speed.  During the move phases, the heavies can take 3 steps, everybody else can take 5, and the scouts can take 7 steps + 1 jump in any direction during the "fight" phase.

After everybody's in position, they can throw their dodgeballs to try to tag people out.
Heavies would get giant beach balls because of their short range/large burst.
Soldiers would get regular dodgeballs because they can roll on the ground a fair distance.
Demos can use tennis balls.  I'm not sure how to emulate the behavior of stickies.
Engies can drop sentry guns (someone sitting on the ground) and throw ping pong balls at people.
Snipers can use one of those longer range nerf dart guns.  I was thinking frisbees, but that might hurt to get clocked in the head with one.
Scouts can smack people with nerf bats if they get close enough not to get tagged out.
I can't think of anything for Spies or Pyros.  Maybe a Pyro can throw a blanket?  Ribbon streamers at a fixed length?  o.O

As for health, I was thinking that the heavies can take 5 hits, scouts can take 1, and everybody else can take 3.  This gives the Medics a job so they can follow people and heal 1 or 2 damage per round.  We can use a thick red or blue ribbon at a fixed length to illustrate who they're healing and if they're in range to be healed.

Sometime during Fanime, we can all gather in a field and play :D  It would be better if this somehow becomes an official event though because we can use a room and build a cubicle divider level or something.

Let me know if you have any ideas or comments.

Hey everyone :O  I'll be going for the first time ever.  My plans for a room fell through though.  Does anyone have some space I can crash in?  I'll only take up a small corner :X

I finally got a job, but now my summer is sooo boring.  Who wants to dress up and go out to do some photoshoots?  I'm generally available after 4 and can travel to anywhere in the South Bay Area.  I'm a amateur photographer who would love some practice with location and light.  If you have some ideas you want to do, but don't have someone with a decent camera to make it possible, let me know :>

My website is http://www.suspi.net/ and you can email me at [email protected] or AIM: Suspiness

I showed up briefly.  I had to leave during the treasure hunt though.

I uploaded my pictures to my website if you guys wanna see what was going on.

Ohhhh, okay I was wondering what she was dressed as.  It really was a nice dress though.  Thanks for telling me.  One down.  And would this happen to be you?

Ewww, I am so not photogenic.  Nope, that's me.  I was dressing up from my friend's webcomic Slightly Damned.

Lain's also a good friend of mine.  I did a pseudo photoshoot of her that you can find on my website.

We were just goofing off though, so most of the pictures are pretty bad.

Arrive, bump into a million friends on my way to my hotel, go to random places, finally get to the room, go to other people's rooms, get distracted on my way to getting my badge, take lots of pictures, probably bump into a million more friends and get side tracked some more, go wherever the wind (re: otaku crowds) will take me

...then try to go get my badge again

I saw it last friday.
The artwork/CGs are really amazing!
I didnt realized that it takes a lot of artists working together to complete a one minute scene untill the end of the movie.

im sure you'll be surprised when you are watching the lists of credit...they even listed drivers, hair stylists etc etc.

I had never read the comic, but the visual effects are really nice.
I wonder how much money they spent to make it.

$135 million with $50 million in marketing
