People that do have a degree in the subject, but are still stupid.
People who call me and others immature due to age, rather than behavior.
People who don't understand the use of irony in sarcasm and genuinely think that you're the one who's stupid.
People who assume I'd be interested in any girl, despite my preferences, solely based on the fact that I'm bisexual. Also, girls who flirt with other girls for attention from guys rather than actually being interested in doing anything.

I have issues with people who free-load off their parents 4 life.
People who expect mommy and daddy to pay for their:
1) college education
2) wedding
3) down payment on first house
4) and finally when they have kids of their own they drop them off at mommy and daddy's house so they can baby sit for free.
5) "borrow" money from time to time to subsidize their consumption
okay I can understand part 1) maybe 2) but 3++ is where I draw the line no ifs ands or buts.
I have personally met a person who was 40 years old but psychologically they were still a child.
Stupid people. Not ignorant people per se but stupid people. The ones who have the potential to be informed but choose not to be.
I'll be the first to admit, I am an offender of this rule time to time...however, it seems there are people out there who abuse it...religiously.

1) College Education - Most people have some sort of support for this. At least, a large majority.
2) Weddings - Typically are expensive and beyond the budget of two individuals who are attempting to save up for a house/their future. Some people pay for it themselves, some have their parents pay for it, some split it in half/borrow.
3) House - I could see maybe borrowing a little bit of money to help get a better interest rate, but if they are paying the "full amount" of the down payment...eh.
4) Kids - Hey grandparents have to see their grand kids sometime. Legit reason in my opinion.
5) Borrowing - Truth, unless it is an emergency situation.

OMG I did that once and for the next 6 months the person became an obsessive freak who followed me around on the board and every time I made a post the person would literally immediately reply to my post, quoting what I said out of context and trying to strawman me. He was hoping that someone else would quote him and then I would see his text. Basically he was trying to push my button.....to see if I would reach the breaking point.
The moderators were completely powerless.
Eventually the Troll got tired of me and left...probably found a new victim.

Another one of my pet peeves is when people follow me and my best friend. Not friends following us, but people who are trying to pick fights with me. So annoying. I don't bother fighting back in fear of putting her in danger. This really became prevalent on Thursday. Her and I were walking together. These 4 stoners began following us. I noted this but acted casual and ignored them. It became annoying when they started talking to me and putting their arm on my shoulder. Sometimes I wish I wasn't calm and was willing to try and snap someone's arm. Lol. I'm kidding about that.

This happened a lot in middle school/high school... people who learn new vocabulary words and use it every other sentence until it becomes annoying.
People who pick up new ridiculously and unnecessarily difficult vocabulary words from the dictionary, and apply it to their speech for the sake of sounding intelligent... no matter what the occasion.
People who do the above things, and don't even bother to try to use the words properly and most often don't.
Being asked the same question over and over after I've already clearly answered it, then asked again... over and over, "Are you sure?", "You're really sure?", "So, you're sure, right?"
People who talk to you as if you're newbie at something when you've already made it clear that you're experienced in whatever skill, and worse, them actually being new when you're clearly not.
People who don't text full words like "txt me l8r!" and "i luv u" and the many others that don't come to mind...

Well, while it is irritating when people are blatantly dishonest in what they say, it's part of their job to uphold a positive reputation of whatever they're representing. They cannot and should not actually say to your face that "they're greedy bastards". You may gain respect for them saying that, but the majority would be completely turned-off and take their business elsewhere. If they're actually willing to help you if you have other options, it'd be great if they shared them with you, but if not, there may be reason, e.g. it being too troublesome, time-consuming, too much effort that'd intervene with the rest of their duties, etc. Sure, it may not be of the most selfless form of integrity, but this is business. Chances are, the more you b*tch and gripe about it, they're capable of making it worse for you. When it's something that's blatantly wrong and something the employee would get in trouble for, take it up with someone of higher power if you're able to do anything about it.

People who start pity fights and try to discredit any depression or stress that you may feel by comparing it with their own. "Well, my life was a lot harder than yours!" and feeling that you're spoiled with happiness because you have the integrity not to tactlessly share your hardships for pity. These same sort of people who try to throw around "You don't understand!" when people don't agree with what they're doing.
People who lack a sense of humor, and get offended easily over stupid things. This is very subjective, though.
People who fish for thank yous and compliments, sometimes even guilty, after they do a nice thing for someone with, "You know, I did this for you." and "Oh yeah! I spent a lot of time on this by the way."
Tactless and socially inept people who won't accept that whatever they're doing may actually be wrong, thus never making the effort to improve not making atmospheres awkward.
People who try to equate "maturity" with age, and responsibilities like "doing chores, having a job, doing homework".
Religious people who look down upon you for not having/share the same religious beliefs.
People who replace typing the letter "g" with "q".
When you tell someone you've had a bad day and would like to be left alone for a moment and they get all offended, thinking you hate them blah blah blah...

There's plenty of reasoning to lead someone to think that they're smarter-- just as how in truth, I find myself of average intelligence by my own standards... and yet, I'm constantly put up to encounter an abundance of stupid people who really make me question what the standard really is.

Well, er, independence can describe several things for a person. A teenager living under their parents' household can still be described as independent as a personality trait, as in, capable of taking care of themselves and their own business to the extent that they're able to, but they wouldn't be
legally independent.

It works the other way around too. Having your own place does not make you indepdant either.
My sister got a job and her own place before I did. I kept hearing how she is soo much more independant than myself.
Mom bought her first car for her, as well as her cell phone and occasionally helped pay her rent. This is because my sister spends all her money on gas-gussling road trips and bar hoping.
Sometimes, she would stay with Mom and I she didn't cook ( she can't) she refused to get off her ass and get her own soda and in one particular occasion, asked me to close a door three ft from her and across the apartment from me.
I now live on my own and I do not ask for a thing. If i run out of money it's my own fault and I don't get to buy anything I want.
My sister is still as bad as ever, but I think my mother has finally figured things out.

Those are just stupid kids. Your point is that your pet peeve is when stupid kids claim to be fully independent, when they're clearly not-- but what you had typed was that underage kids aren't capable of being independent because of them living under their parents' roof and being supported by them financially. I've been going to the same doctor since I was about ten, and he still doesn't say my name right. We just haven't bothered to correct him anymore, since he doesn't seem to even try to remember how it's said, even though we've told him on so many occasions.
Its the same with many teachers I've had. They have so many names to remember though, it never really bothers me.

This really goes back for me, but still pisses me off. Pretty much the "we're gonna punish all of you just because a few students was a jerk off". Particularly when the first few douchebags shove to try to get on the bus, so the bitchy bus driver gets pissed and decides she's not gonna drive everyone home. And the same driver he would pick us up late to go to school, where afterwards we would all get yelled at for being late to school.
I could go on furthermore, but the forums doesn't that much bandwidth to spare.
When I get punished for what the other dumbass apprentice did wrong. Which is all the time cuz the dorkus isn't around often, so he never withholds what he learned. -_-;
But that isn't really all that bad.
Sharing the tattoo machines. I have to use the backup machines until I can finish soldering my new one. >:/ Someone botched up the machine, and another one of them has had a capacitor fry. Why can't people take care of stuff?????? Or better yet, dumbasses shouldn't be allowed to tattoo. Regardless of the quality of the machines. I know how to fix them, but I am getting tired of being the only one fixing them. >:/

Anyways, when the lights are on anytime between sunrise and the after noon. Just seeing those artificial lights on when the sun glorious rays are beaming through the windows irritate the hell out of me.

I have this thing where I have to close the door leading to the kitchen because the noise has a canny way of traveling to my room, and my ears are MEGATON sensitive. So a pet peeve of mine is when I close the door and some one else opens it but doesn't close it. It's especially frustrating for me because I find myself waking up some 2 and 3 times because my grandfather refuse to turn down the T.V. or close the door so I don't have to hear it, and as you could imagine that takes away from my sleep... No. But whenever I need to implement a specific level of restrictions (for example, if I wanted to limit something to reading but not writing in a certain subforum) it's easier to define a special group and manage permissions at that level.

Conversely, people who walk up to my counter at work yakking on the phone and not ready to do business. Part of the job is to communicate with the customer ("Why is this coming back?", "What was the problem with it?", "You're missing something.", "Would you like store credit, or do you want it back to the card?", etc.), and the customer yakking on the phone nearly nonstop slows down the process for everyone (not to mention being damn rude).

This annoys me:
When people go out to by iPods or other MP3 devices, the look for how many songs the thing can hold instead of the actual amount of hard drive capacity the thing has. The "x' number of songs is just an estimate based on song length and the quality it was encoded into. That number is more misleading than the amount of Gigs it lists on the packaging.
This really irritates me:
At the store I work at, we do not do exchanges in most circumstances. It has to be a ligit reason, such as a miss matched pair of boots. But then you have to have the reciept and the item has to be in it's Original condition. You bought something and it turns out you didn't need it? Sorry, all sales are final. This return policy is posted throughout the store ESPECIALLY on the check out counter. It's especially infuriating when they come a week later and it's one of the busiest days in our Shopping season, and they DEMAND a refund. It ain't happening.
On that note, I really hate it when a person knocks on the front door wanting to look around when we closed A HALF HOUR AGO. You had the whole day. Not my problem.
While were on the subject, don't ask me for a discount unless you have a really good reason, buying in bulk, or I'm friends with you. I got someone that wanted "I don't want to pay $20". He ended up leaving. I'm not going to risk losing my job just to get you a great deal.

A huge pet peeve is collage students ( anyone really) not taking responsitbility for their own actions, or generally behaving like children.
Right now Im listening to a 20-some year old student bitch at the woman in charge of the computer lab because she cannot log onto the computers.
The woman explained " you cant log on until tuition is paid"
For the past ten minutes she has been arguing 'well this class takes longer to be paid for".
Is that the computer labs fault? No.
Can the woman in charge fix it? No.
Is there any reason she should give you special treatment? No.
Is standing there whining going to fix it? No.
You know, a baby sitter is much cheaper she ( and many other studenst) should look into that.
This is one of many, maaaany similar cases.

Pet peeve: Identical nonconformists.
People who reject what they believe to be common to surpass conformity and reassure themselves that they are unique. People just seem to place so much value in individuality, and react to trends and anything remotely mainstream by trying to do the complete opposite... when plenty of other people do the same exact thing. People who proclaim things like, "Well, I'm different from everyone else..." when infact, they aren't. People who make themselves and others ashamed of what they like, because of reasons driven from their need to run away or be a part of conformity. The insanity of it all, despite the logic of "there is no individuality" and accepting that people are who they are because of how they react to the circumstances.
Though, despite it being a pet peeve, I probably wouldn't change it. It's just how things are.

4. Sushi lesson next week and I can't be there cos I gotta be at the play

6. Dog getting dentist appt. and wanting extra care (yeah, he's spoiled. :D )

This one is kind of unethical or mean...
When ever the bus takes about a million years to load a wheelchair on the bus.
The thing that really irritates me about this is the fact that in a lot of instances, the wheel chair can take up to 4 seats, which often times creates a problem for the passengers. Sometimes, even, the elderly have to get up and move because of it, which makes people have to move on into, sometimes, an already overcrowded bus. I think that it would do the consumer (in this case the general public) a huge favor if the people who put out the buses consider the fact that there are passengers that are confined to wheelchairs and it's kind of an issue when the buses are small and crowded as it is...

Moving around and being cramped is one of the many disadvantages of public transit. I am not fond of it either.

True, true, and I fully understand that. I don't mind the elderly thing, but I REALLY hate it when it's a super small bus. Like I catch a bus called the 50, and it's practically packed every morning. It pisses me off when they send little ass buses knowing damned well hella people get on those buses. And they know, I'm sure people have complained. People craming over people, people nearly starting fights, me almost falling, people in wheel chairs practically not being able to get out because the bus is filled up to the front.... I just hate it when people at work don't clean up the coffee maker. It just tastes so great when someone makes a pot of coffee after someone left the pot on the heating plate, allowing the previous batch to "Cook" down to a solid mass of tar, and not clean out the pot. It doesn't take long to at least rinse out the thing.

When you REALLY need to get something off of your chest and you just need a friend to listen and you talk to every friend you have and they all tell you about what's going on in their day and you really do care, and you really do listen...but not a single one asks "How are you?"

Totally get you on the interview thing. I think it's becuase the hiring manager doesn't want to hire someone who is smart and experienced, becuase they'll have to pay you more. Whereas people who are idiots get hired becuase it costs less to pay them.

Another possible reason why someone without the experience or drive gets interviews would be connections. They may know someone who, in turn, knows someone in management and gets into the interviewing process thanks to a bit of influence.

I think it's also partially that the English (American in my experience) language has so many words with different meanings and so many words with the same meanings, people seem to like to twist them to sound one way, but then they just turn around and use another definition. I've had to deal with people like that way too much, it's quite annoying. Brilliant idea, but they're jerks.

He was a friend of mine from HS. He thought I would pay for him and his friends (I carry lots of cash around). The bill was $178 and there were 4 of us. I only ordered about $30 worth and they expect me to pay all of it!? >:(
You know what I did? I got up told him "Some friend you are!" Went to the cash register told them to seperate the payment, paid my food and left. As I was leaving the drive way I saw one of his friends got up too and she threw water in his face. All I hear was yelling and then I just left. He had to be really embarress and probably kicked out of the store. :P
Next day he text me that I was a jerk! What the hell? He invited me and expect me to pay their food! He deserved it. ;D

The whole "us" vs "them" mentality annoys me since it's a ridiculously over simplified way to approach things. I agree, but put downs and name calling isn't going to help the person understand our view points on the topic or help them to change themselves. Hell, when I was much younger and inexperienced I had the same view points as that kid. Now that I am older and wiser I know that I was just inexperienced and lacked personality and confidence.
The reasons why a "geek" doesn't get the girl is most likely due to the fact that they do not have the confidence to speak to girls, like those with experience do...and most likely they are shy and timid not just with girls, but with new people in general. The only way to go about changing this is for them to be around those that boost their confidence and don't put them down. However, putting that someone down for having those inexperienced opinions isn't exactly the way to help them fix things....and calling them a loser really isn't going to help either. This just pushes them farther into their hole and justifies their opinions of some of the more experienced crowd.
Yeah, he may have warped views on things, but that's what he has gathered from his own experiences thus far. It should be our role to assist in adding our experiences to help reform his warped view, rather than just putting him down and making him even more wary about talking to anyone in the future.
These forums should be a safe haven for geeks, not a place to get flamed for having a different opinion. I have no quams with anyone telling the dude he was wrong (because he was) and the reasons why he was wrong. I just do not agree with the way things were said and the name calling that was done. Those who claim experience should know how to set better examples of how to treat people.

I hate it when people say "I'll be there at X place Y time Z date", and either don't call saying their late for hours...or never show up at all.
Yeah...I wouldn't deal with that very well at all. I don't even put up with it with my own family. O_o I start spazzing when we're running late ahead of time. OCD. :(

I can top that. My Green Waste / Recycling bins get picked up between 6:30 - 8:00A.M., but my regular trash bin doesn't get picked up until late afternoon,

If you choose to drive at 100 miles an hour in the middle of nowhere and you get hurt. Well that was your choice. You take the chance of hurting / killing people who had no say in your decision to drive like an idiot.

Garbage men used to be on the road at 3 am in the morning. Picking up, dropping off, and exchanging bins. My gramps was a garbage man for 40 years. When he first started, they had only pack cans and a truck with a wide bed, no seats and partial cab. They picked up in the heat, the cold, and during a storm. All up and down San Mateo County, and probably then some when the company expanded. It's now owned by Allied.

Are you getting no channels at all, or only some of them (say, 2-38)? If the latter and you're on Comcast, you'll need a Digital Transport Adapter (their fancy way of saying "digital cable box") to get expanded cable since they made channels above 38 (or thereabouts) digital rather than analog. Kinda like the digital switchover for over-the-air broadcasts, except you have to get the digital boxes from Comcast rather than from a store.

Trying to find a decent Halloween costume. It seems like 90% of women's halloween costumes are designed to make it look like there's a dangerous shortage of fabric in this country. Add onto that the fact that I'm...shall we say "busty" and finding a decent costume that covers all my bits is basically impossible. I don't want to wear my cosplay again this year, it sucks to spend the whole night explaining who you are dressed as. Sigh...thank goodness I still have close to a month 'till I need to costume.

Pet Peeve #1: Working with people who do not give a damn about their job. They do not carry their own weight, so you are forced to pick up the slack. If you bring it up to your manager, you get ousted for not being a team player.
Pet Peeve #2: Everyone is assigned an hour for supporting incoming issues. If you miss taking ownership on anything from your hour, you get reemed. If you find that a co-worker missed taking ownership of an item from their hour and you attempt to help them by giving them ownership, they go off on you and somehow get your manager on their side because they just so happen to be all "buddy/buddy" with eachother.
Pet Peeve #3: Being late 3 times in 3 months for traffic related incidents, because you live 30 minutes from work and any little accident can really screw things up... YET, you still get written up, even though you called in ahead stating that you were stuck in traffic...and some of co-workers confirmed there was bad traffic. But the other person the manager likes can be late all the time, when they live 5 minutes from work...and nobody gives a crap.
Pet Peeve #4: Having a boss who is racist against anyone who is not within her own ethnicity range....especially against white people.
Pet Peeve #5: A new position opens up just above yours. All of your co-workers congratulate you because they see nobody else who management would want to promote over you, because you've been working your ass off and you help everyone. After some deliberation management calls you into their office. You are stoked because to your knowledge they only do this to the person who is getting the promotion.
Management: We called you in here to tell you that we made a decision on the open position.......and it's not going to be you.

Pet Peeve #6: They proceed to explain how they just promoted another guy instead of you. One who is known to not be very bright and not do his job the way it should be done. Everyone in the department he was promoted to does not want him there because he is slow and will just be a pain in the ass to teach things to. Things he should already know.....
Pet Peeve #7: After a short conversation, Management asks if you have any questions or concerns. You proceed to state how you can understand why they promoted the other person, because he had seniority.....but how it is embarassing because everyone you work with had been telling you that you would get the position. The female racist manager then states, "Lifes a bitch. Get over it." The other female manager's jaw drops and her face goes white.... After she recovers, she interrupts and tries to salvage the conversation. You want to go off on the one and then quit, but you somehow remain calm.
Pet Peeve #8: You only finally got your promotion after two other people less qualified and experienced than you got it.....and that's only because you were lucky and one of them quit, because they had no clue what they were doing in the harder position.
Pet Peeve #9: Your only key to further promotion out from under this manager, is by approval of this person. BUT, they favor one of the crappy employees with a bad attitude and bad work ethic, because they are friends.... So there is no chance in hell that you'll get promoted any time soon. You try to be nice to these two people and you go above and beyond in your work...but for some reason they do not seem to like you.
Pet Peeve #10: Having tons of ideas to increase efficiency in the work place, but having every single one shot down by the manager.
Pet Peeve #11: Having some of your ideas to increase efficiency stolen by the manager and claimed for their own, but only done in a half-assed manner.
Pet Peeve #12: Not being able to find a better job.

Constantly being evacuated from my apartment because of a faulty smoke detector on the second floor. I'm serious, 18 evacuations in the last month. You'd think the apartment complex would have fixed this by now...but no. It's right up there with my window that got shot out by a bee-bee gun in OCTOBER that hasn't been replaced yet.
I guess to summarize, my pet peeve is really bad apartment management.
Being told by somebody who's on the internet 24 hous a day, that "I" have no life.
My roomate not flushing the toilet and by the time I get up to get ready for work it has been FESTERING for 8 hrs!!! :-X ...putting the toilet seat down and not peeing on the rug and blaming it on my cats would work too!!

LOL...yeah there used to be some beastly and I mean BEASTLY girls working their but they got fired because they got sent home one too many times for smelling. :-\ which brings up another pet peeve...I hate when people drench themselves in cologne or perfume to try to mask the funk!!! just take a damn shower...at least sprinkle some water on yourself with a few drops of soap!!

Last year I kept a hidden bottle of febreeze in my purse..and I think more than one while behind a stinky fanboy in line I would randomly start spraying in their direction. But sadly the flies were still swarming around their head...LOL....
there needs to be a fanboy repellent made..that is deoderant, soap, water and shampoo mixed into one!

Let's see.. I think I'm pretty easy-going overall..but I do have things that make me grumble under my breath...
-Being accused of something I didn't do. I will take the responsibility for my actions easily enough, and I am very sincere about that, but try to peg me for something I wasn't part of and I get right testy (had this problem recently with my neighbor...accused us of vandalizing his truck while he was on vacation! Um...NO!)
-People who drive stupidly because they are on their cellphone without using something to keep them hands-free. Or worse yet, TEXTING while driving.
-Over-entitlement. The world doesn't revolve around you, and things are not gonna be handed to you on a platter. If you want something bad enough, get off your butt and earn it like the rest of us have to.
-Pants on the ground. The dude on American Idol had it right..you DO look like a fool waddling around like a disabled penguin. Pull 'em up already! Same for those ladies who seem to think the revealing thong is sexy. It might be..if you're a pr0nstar. Otherwise, pull 'em up.

My pet peeve is complicated... it relates with anything to do with someone's personal hygiene. Like if I'm sitting next to someone or my friend and they have dirty finger nails, greasy hair, etc. I know it shouldn't bother me, but it does. ( ; ____________ ; ) I never say anything though, but I always go wash my hands when my friends are around so they automatically wash theirs with me, that makes me feel better. ^^

They have to perpetuate their side even after someone grows up enough to say something like "I understand your opinion and your reasoning, but I thing that my trail of reasoning is more logical and thus I think we should agree to disagree. We just aren't getting anywhere." Really it's foolish to think that going over the same material just with a stronger emphasis is going to win them over.

Coming back to an apartment after a weekend away finding out, once again, that Roommate is freaking DIRTY! Leaving egg shells out on the counter, TONS of dishes in the sink, a NASTY toilet, and ANTS IN THE BATHROOM? CRUMBS EVERYWHERE. I AM SO STRESSED OUT.

But seriously, NPO means NPO (no food or drink in hospital jargon) and the last thing we want is you puking and getting said puke into your lungs, giving you pneumonia and further increasing how many days you're in that hospital room (especially if you're one of our 'favorite' patients...)

The other day, I went to the drive-by mailboxes outside the post office to mail a stack of letters. When I stopped, there was no one behind me. I paused to recount them and then I dropped them into the box in groups of three to make sure I didn't miss any.
What do you know, some lady pulls up behind me, almost hits me, and essentially tells me to hurry it up, when she's been behind me for what, 10 seconds?
When I looked at my clock as I pulled out, it was a couple minutes to 5PM. Ok, so maybe she was running late for something.
BUT LATE OR NOT, IT'S YOUR OWN DARN FAULT. Don't go giving me a hard time for bothering to actually stop at the box.
Stop to smell the flowers once in a while, folks. It could do a world of good. ;)

When people react to me in an annoyed fashion. I don't know what's so annoying about just saying "hello". I'm more sensitive than I look, I take being snapped at for no reason personally.
I also hate that people seem to be instinctively afraid of me. Just because i look like I can hurt you doesn't mean I can or have any intention of doing so >_>...
Did I mention girls who are always raving on about how un-datable they are. I think I get the short end of the stick in most cases, considering that no non-overlyflirtatious girl has ever expressed that i'm attractive in the least bit. Come back and complain to me when you're continually surrounded by people going on about how attractive other guys are, all while pushing you into the gay bestfriend position. I'm not even gay, and if I was i'm pretty sure that assuming I'd fit gender/orientation stereotypes is as ignorant as assuming i'm obsessed with chicken because I'm black.

EDIT: Also, people who obviously try to mooch off of me for school. People think that just because I'm in honors and have a high GPA, I should help them with their last minute studying/extra credit/assignments. =3= I'm taking 5 classes, 2 of them are honors, and one is upper div. =3= BLAHLBAHLBLAHLBLAH stupid finals. :F
