No, you can book a hotel without having paid for your badge yet. But if for some reason you never get a badge and still want to keep the room you'll pay full price instead of the Fanime discount.

Not particularly. However, make sure you're prepared. Keep your credit card handy so you can enter in without digging out your wallet while you're putting in your info.
Now, I've never reserved -without- a credit card, so I don't know how that works, but I think someone with experience not using ye Mighty Plastic can speak to that :)

Good thing I have my droid and its charger, because the store I work at closes at 7. Lets hope the 3g connection doesn't poop out.

Had a bit of a weird issue, but I'll call CMR on Monday morning. For some reason if I want to check in on Wednesday, the only room available at the Hilton is one with a guaranteed rollaway for 115. I don't need or want the rollaway so for the time being I've booked from Thursday. Hopefully they can sort it out XD

The date is only wrong at the top of the CMR hotel reservation page; every other page on the main fanime site has it listed the way it needs to be.....I'm just letting tony know they missed a small error that might get bigger if it doesnt get fixed soon(crapton of emails regarding the official date, stuff like that).....and its also why something this big needs to be gone over with a fine-toothed comb.
Never mind dates for Fanime 2011 are May 27 to May 30th good!

I had problems at first using Google chrome, it wouldn't load, but I opened it it firefox and it worked, I don't know if its a similar problem.

I've never booked a room myself before so I have a quick question for you all. I'm either booking at the Fairmont or Saint Claire and I'm wondering if either charge right when you book a room? I won't have money until next month but I really wanna get my room as soon as I can.
Alright, so I booked from the 27th through 31st just to be sure, until I get some kind of official verification from the mods...I figure it's better to have the days booked and change it later.

Just mentioning that the hotel key on the map is wrong. The numbers assigned to hotels don't match where they are actually located. But if you click the number on the map the hotel information is correct.

That's what it was like at the Marriott last year, I just wanted to be sure it was the same for all the hotels before I booked. Overdrafting $300+ from my bank would not be fun :x

Unfortunately, I had to resort to the evil that is IE to get my room booked. I was in shock that my lovely FireFox, which has hardly ever caused me a problem, actually got beaten out by something that *shudder* IE could do. I promptly fled back to FF when I was done lol
Wait, is this trying to tell me that all the Hilton 2-bedded rooms are taken (except for Friday and Saturday) in less than 3 hours? That makes no sense. You'd think Friday and Saturday would be the first to fill up, and it would take at least a couple days. Please someone tell me there's a glitch in the system. I have a friend that I promised him he could get a room even if he didn't get home til midnight. I assumed it was impossible to fill up that quickly.

I used my older brothers debit card to book my room (since my new one is in the mail and won't be here for a week at least) who do I contact to change the card info? Do I just go back to my reservation and edit it? Or do I email housing directly?
A friend had to change cards last minute at last years Con and just edited his reservation info.

I think you contact CMR for any changes. Which also should mean what card you use to reserve.

Thanks very much, though I did end up canceling my room at the Fairmont in favor of the Ramada :/ It was around $140 cheaper, which makes my wallet hurt less.
