Hm... that's weird tho, I'd rather take pictures of Whammy's house kids over Misa and Light.... ~_~ Well, everybody has different tastes I guess.
I noticed more pictures we're taken of the L's more (But you gotta love a sleep-deprived guy who eats sweets 24/7 ^^ ), and this gathering was not really what I was expecting, did they take any group pictures? Like all the Death Note cosplayers got in a big bunch and took one huge picture? Because if they did then I missed it big time D:
I've been looking at pictures online all day and I haven't seen any big Death Note groups yet. If not that sucks! I know for my group at the Shonen Jump gathering we only did one group picture before all the cosplayers from our series got there. We should have done another but we lacked organization. I guess the lesson learned is that somebody needs to rally everybody together (Or at least try to) for a big picture and then people are bound to hop in with cameras.

No No The More the Better of any DN Cosplay ^_^ That means The bigger the gathering. So if you want to cosplay as Misa do it, as long as you have a good time making and wearing your cosplay. That is all that matters.

haha, last year my group was the one with the Near who was obsessively solving the rubix cube over and over. we got him finger puppets, though, so now he's working on his one-handed speed so he can have the rubix going in one hand and the puppets on the other XD

Actually, Near is my least favorite character, but I just wanted to cosplay him cuz I thought it'd be fun, and L is over-cosplayed. Mello has too much clothing that would be too hard to get, and Matsuda would be awesome, but I doubt anybody would know who I was.

I was thinking Friday (afternoon sometime for those of you who have school or whatnot; however, there's quite a few other gatherings in the afternoon already) OR Monday (since a LOT of slots are open), but you can suggest any day/time.:)
I think it would be best to hold the gathering on Friday or Monday since both those days have the least of other gathering interfiering.

Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gathering this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed.

CE/Cosplayer Event Plans {Friday}
We take photos for the Official Gathering at 5 PM.
Each person coming to the Official Gathering should bring at least one apple (any kind, although red is preferred) to hold in the photo. (Kowaii! XD)
After the photoshoot (5:30 PM-ish), we will play some games. [game ideas listed below]
Between 6 PM and 6:10 PM, we can walk to dinner together nearby. We will decide where to go to dinner together.
Between 7:15 PM and 7:30 PM, we can walk back to Fanime.
Before we go to find seats for the DN movie, we can play some more games if we have time.
We shall go and watch L: Change the WorLd at 8:30 PM in Video 6/SJCC A1! (What better way to end the gathering on Friday than a Death Note movie?)
The movie should end around 11 PM and the gathering will end after that.
If one wants to stay at Fanime after the movie, there will be a dance that one can attend.
GAME IDEAS FOR CE: {Friday} (Fanime will probably want photos of our games.)

I think that sounds good. I'll ask the gatherings moderator about that.
A picnic would be fun! That second/fun day/hang out day/CE could also just be when we take our fun, non-Fanime photos. Or get some practice, if you want. ^^
Since I'm hearing a lot of Mondays so far, I'm thinking that Friday would be the hang out day/CE and Monday would be the official gathering day. That way, if you have school/something on Friday, you'll still get to meet everyone (and probably more people) on Monday.

hey i'm kagaminerin02's boyfriend the one whos doing Ryuk. i think u should do the gethering friday. mostly because thats when i'm cosplaying as ryuk and thats my main complicated cosplay to put on and walk around cause i'm half blind. so if the person in charge for this gathering can make this happen for friday or both friday and monday that would be great for my part and possibly others

I just sent BSaphire a PM about requesting to make our gathering on Monday AND Friday. :]
(Now we wait and see. :))
The official gathering [where Fanime will come to take photos] will be on Monday.
Our meeting/fun/hang out/Cosplayer Event day will be Friday.
So you can do Ryuk on both days, if all goes well with our anticipated PM reply. ^_^
I am thinking about altering the time that we meet on Friday, though, because if we want the CE to be at least an hour, we should move it up for those who have other gatherings later that day. Also, a Death Note lunch meeting or picnic, anyone? How does that sound for the CE? We'll definitely make it earlier if we're all going to eat lunch for our CE. :D
Please post ideas for CE if you have them!
Examples: tennis game, Tetris competition (bring your own games), lunch or picnic together, ...
I won't be adding these to the list unless someone really DOES have an interest in these. >_>

no its her first time too. i mean *grab me and help me out* as in if it almost time for the gathering and if someone who sees ryuk "me" and there going to the gathering too. can they please grab me,tap me on the shoulder etc and point me to the right direction. cause i'll mostly blind so yelling or waving at me to get my attention is not really gonna work.

With Choice B, Friday is BOTH the Official Gathering and the CE Gathering. It is more efficient and sensible to stick them together than fragment our stuff. Fanime will take photos of the Official G and the CE. After photos, we will play games. Then go to dinner. Then hang about a bit ... and, subsequently, go watch
L: Change the WorLd.
Monday will be for fun. Fanime will not come to snapshot us. We can just hang about and do what we want/will. *shrug* ^__^

A is what allowed to do because B conflicts with the schedule
Monday is best for me. I have school on that Friday, and so will some other people probably, so I think Monay works best. ^_^
i have no school on that friday and about the tea thing
i think i will be wonderful if we get like a pot of tea and have a tea party in either the middle of the hall or in the gathering so people will be wondering what were doing like say"omg bunch of death note characters having a tea party" and if someone comments similar to like that we just stay silent and nod =D? throwing ideas around :P
For those of you worried about missing Fanime for school (or missing school for Fanime), Choice B makes everything on Friday afterschool and Monday is Memorial Day. So no school will be missed.
Choice A would make students miss the CE gathering and there would only be pictures on Monday. No fun games. :(
(Choice B also gives us a much longer possibility for the CE than Choice A.)

i'm so busy still messing with cosplay that i'm not sure if i can afford to make a stop at safeways or longs or something to buy food. (yeah i know cheap right, but less time instead of making food like a cake) I know that I could make asian food or something but seriously....rice don't work out overnight unless we steam it again >.<; same with sushi.
I may make/bring a chocolate cake but count it as a 75% NO as in I won't, except an apple which may not be red itself LOL. If time allows, i'll try to bake one on thursday afterschool or so...

True, but we probably do not want the group to get split up ... might be messy later on. More difficult to find each other when we go to see the Death Note movie on Friday night, right? >_<

We can decide on the gap activities [if no one is interested in games or would rather save the rest of the game for Monday's tea] while we eat dinner together. Also, it will depend on when we all finish dinner, etc. That will determine how much time we have left for the gap until

FRIDAY
-forget not your apple for the photo
-and whatever props and cameras and whatnot you'd like to bring, of course ;)
-forget not your games/stuff so we can play them
-for badminton/tennis ... I'm going to check if I need the racquets peace bonded when I get to con. If ye bring something like racquets for the game, too, I suggest checking that you also get your equipment checked. >_<
-plans for Monday can also be chatted about on Friday night (additions, opinions, edits, etc.)
MONDAY
-forget not your apple(s) for the photo

-please do not forget whatever food you are going to share with the group D=
-if you want to drink tea, you must bring your own thermos/container of hot water with you
