Quote from: "Ska_Kitti"I'm surprised you didn't catch the likeness of Tokiko > Kenshin in the manga. Same eyes. ^_^x

Same eyes + facial scar...Tokiko is awesome :)

The manga story is surprisingly good, actually.   I guess mostly because the 3 main characters are great/unique and never really do anything that makes me want to smack them on the head.   That's a big plus in my book.  The character relationships are also great.

Being a fighting series, lots of random fighting sorta drags down the story, but most of them were pretty short and strategic.  Can't be too bad when he managed to finish the story in 10 volumes :)  The boss power/fights are another story, however :P

Overall, a very fun series with great characters, and it made me feel warm and fuzzy hehe

Quote from: "mDuo13"I just watched episode 9, and... I don't get it. It's supposedly episode 14, which according to what I've heard will be the last episode (Kyoto might've planned to make the show longer, but needs staff to do a remake of Kanon), and it's like... neither a good ending, nor a hilarious episode, or anything! I mean, there are some good lines and stuff, but overall... the episode is way too mellow... It's like... something's wrong here, but I don't know what...

yea it's a little slow, but to me this show has never been about gut-busting comedy
anyway, this episode gives the biggest hint of haruhi's feelings so far
I'm guessing the last episode of the anime will be the last episode of the melancholy book (1st book), which has a more...action-oriented climax. Perhaps the 14 episode length + this episode is the reason why they made it non-linear, so it ends with a bang :)

Quote from: "Chun"Episode 8 is going to appeal to all those Kyon x Haruhi shippers. They don't blatantly hide it either.

hehe yep the scene when they're sitting at the rock is great :)
actually, they also gave a hint in episode 6 with the camera

however, the non-linear episodes are kinda annoying...because we see the result of her change before we see the process :P

General Convention Discussion / MAP

here you go,

http://www.as.sjsu.edu/asts/pdfs/Busstopmapforfall2005.pdf

It's not a definite map of course, but it pretty much sets the walkable perimeter of where you'd want to go. (about from Almaden to 11th street, San Salvador to Santa Clara st.). It also shows quite a few restaurants.

For any vegan/vegentarians, there are 3 restaurants on Santa Clara St., respectively on 7th st (Good Karma), 9th (Tofu), and 12th (Vegetarian house).

If you want to explore, you can take take the light rail 4 stations north (actually 2, since San Fernando and St. James are under construction) to Japantown/Ayer. From there, head north and turn right at the first intersection (Jackson St.,) and walk a few blocks east. There are quite a lot of Japanese retaurants there.

If you need some snack/drinks, you can go to 2nd st and santa clara. There's a supermarket called Zanotto, and a couple small convienient stores. If you want vietnamese stuff, go south to 2nd and San Salvador St.
