Hmmmm....I might just have to look into buying a cheap mask for this thing...Although I'll STILL stand out so people would still know it's me ^^;

^^ Yeah, I'll end up probably buying one of those plastic white ones and just paining over it. Hmm, I wonder how I should decorate it.

Is anyone going to have those fancy big plumed feathers on theirs? What decorations would you all put on your masks?

I'm a big fan of simple half masks (I like the rectancular ones, not the oval ones) just covered with some cool patterened fabric.  For example:  http://www.featherplace.com/ic/fp/MHM/EC.html?id=pzPnKTSb and you can actually find these at Michael's or other art stores.  They're called "half mask forms."

I just cut a piece of cool fabric slightly larger than the mask, got some adhesive spray, sprayed it on the top of the mask, and then pressed the fabric onto the mask.  Then, you cut the eyeholes out of the fabric and trim the edges, make holes and attach on some ribbon and you're done.

That IS a rather cool idea, ESPECIALLY since white wouldn't go so well with my planned outfit. It'd have to be black like my Kuro Lolita outfit ^_^

1Fireforge- Sounds nice, I was actually thinking about Micheals, too. I already have bells, but I'll need to buy some ribbon and maybe a few feathers... and lace. ;D We'll see how it goes. Oh, that mask was the same exact mask I was going to buy, too. ^^

Yep, I made a whole bunch a while ago for a group of people, and I was kind of surprised at how nice they looked.  I'm not a big fan of putting a whole ton of stuff on a mask, but a lot of people can put feathers and bells and whatnot on a mask and make it look cool...I'm not one of them =)

I might wear my formal Roxas costume with ball gown Namine along side like we did at the AX dance. Other than that I could make a totally new formal cosplay WHOOT!

Yeah I would TOTALLY go to the ballroom dancing panel. Although...I'd probably have to do my mask at home. Maybe I'll just paint it black.

from what i've been hearing, it looks like the masque making workshop is being scrapped for this year at least.  it probably had something to do with the cost of the supplies - they can be really expensive.  as to the ballroom dancing lessons, i haven't heard that they've been canned too, but then again, i haven't heard that they're happening either.

Just my luck, they announce that they're going to do the Black and White Ball hours after I make plans to go to PLAY! the same night.  Durn it. :(
 
Hopefully the Ball will still be going on when we get back, and we can enjoy at least a little bit of it.   :)

But it's exciting that the Ball will go on!   :D

Well, i guess now that it's finally gotten up on the website, i can drop all the rumor stuff.

well, here you go!

Suggested Attire:

Formal-wear cosplay (ex. egl/ega, dressed up bleach/naruto/fma/etc. characters, top hat and tails)

NO AGE LIMIT!  This dance will be open to children of all ages but there ARE two conditions.

1) you MUST have a valid convention badge
2) you should do your best to be in costume.  

so, what constitutes a costume in my mind is something that you wouldn't wear everyday.  this can be a suit and tie, it can be a naruto shinobi costume, it can be pretty much anything besides street clothes.  if you can't get a costume together, pick yourself up a mask (phantom of the opera style, or a half mask, etc., or even a nice papier mache venitian).

now, does this mean we wont let you in if you don't have a costume, no.  but since most people will be in costume, just be forewarned that you will look a little out of place.

No problem!  Here you go...like I said, they're real simple, but I prefer them that way.  You start putting all kinds of stuff on it, and it begins to look cheap =)  I do like the way the furry one came out though...I have three more blanks, so if furry is all the rage, PM me...=)
