Cell from DBZ does Lucky Star

XDDD

and as for me, Kagami and Konata looked hella cute wearing pony tails. I'm glad that they made Aya Hirano as Konata sing the ending theme to FMP:Fumoffu on the ending credits lol

Anyone hear about the director change:

"current director Yamamoto Hiroshi has been changed to Yasuhiro Takemoto, whose credits include directing FMP? Fummoffu and FMP: The Second Raid"

Seems to be weird doing this after 4 episodes.  What do you think?

ANN's blurb on this.

Apparently it's cause of "performance issues."  All the negative criticism about the show must have added up.  But it's still pretty unusual for a Japanese company to change the series director mid-run.

Personally I've come to love the subtle, nothing-happens nature of the first few episodes.  I get the feeling that the show will become a bit more deliberate in its comedy after the director change and I'm inclined to be disappointed, but I'll keep watching regardless.  I'm sure it'll still be good cause it's not like the source material's any different.

It's odd for them to directly state "poor performance" on the official site. Usually they are pretty vague about these kind of things.

Also, I always thought that everything was done production wise prior to airing. I didn't know that they record episodes while they air. I can see this being done for long series like Keroro Gunsou, but series with only 1-2 cools (13-26ep)? I had no idea.

On the good side, ep 4 was freakin epic, so many things I can relate to. This show has became to be one of my all time favorite series, not just this season but an all time favorite, in just 4 episodes. Yeah this series is definately not for the mass audience (especially in foreign countries) but whatever, it's a personal great watch. I hope this change is for the better.

If you haven't seen it.

I'm not watching it. Nothing against the series or anything.

If one sees too much moe in a period of time, that person reaches Moe Overload and must take a rest.

The breaking point is different for each person. The breaking point for you, and most everyone here doesn't exist. The breaking point for me is fairly low. I can only take so much Moe before I can't take any more.

I can understand. I can't marathon Slayers for the life of me, even though a lot of people can do it.

I keep wondering... what MMO is it? and where can I get it? XD;

That and what does konata's character look like? and the teacher's as well... though I'd rather see konata's since its her... XD

Does she play a girl? a boy? a humanoid? or something else? O.o?

Hopefully future episodes will tell. >.<

Kagami maintains a consistent level of awesome. <3

I've watched the episode twice already.  And I've had it for maybe six hours.  Tops.

The ED is potentially the best one yet.  Brings back such fond memories.  In really bad Hirano Aya glory. XDDDDDDDDD

Bah!  Does anyone in the series play full support?  I can't relate to tanks and nukers.

I really don't know what MMO she plays, it could be a fictional one. With so many MMOs out there, its hard to keep track of small references if it really is a real game.

As for the classes, from personal experience, girls tend to always play a caster over melee, atleast for endgame... so a girl tanking is refreshing... and HOT.

I'm surprised that they haven't introduced her dad to the series yet, he's quite awesome. But Yui made a subtle introduction so that was great.

Now im gonna go watch it for the 4th time for a more deeper analysis, gg me.

I just watched episode 4 again for the 2nd time and episode 5 right now.

This episode is the win. I don't play MMO's but I hella understood what Konata was saying because I'm surrounded by people playing Crack. :P Anyway, this episode is hella fun.

and yeah,

CHA-LA, HEAD-CHA LA...

Aya Hirano singing it wins so many internets. I was laughing so hard and rocking out at the same time. I hope they release a cover CD from this. I will listen to it non-stop.

And wow, all 4 girls looked hella cute wearing yukatas. Can't wait to see more. :D

Eh~ I guess I wasn't clear in my partial joke... I wasn't implying that I thought it was real... I just wondered what it is even if its fictional... fictional=where can I find it?...even better. XP

I guess I'm a stereotypical girl then... I like my casters.. >.>; I also wish to see other roles as well... Ranger/Dancer and thief would be nice too...
But I do agree... A girl tanking is kinda hot.

Hmm... I wonder.
Hypothetical question:
If the other girls in the series would have MMO characters, what class do you think they would be? Apart from the two we know.

I enjoy questions like these but it's a hard one. Feels like anything is viable.

Kagami - I could imagine her as a nuker class, but it would be raw if she goes as some melee damage class. I say mage/rogue-style dmg, maybe even a hybrid support/dmg, i don't know.
Miyuki/Tsukasa - Both being rather healer-type characters, I can imagine these 2 as a healer class. They don't game irl so it's hard to determine what they are capable of imo.

Tsubasa

Kagami: I agree that she would probably be some kind of damage dealing class.  I can see her either nuking or pure melee DD.

Miyuki: The main healing class.  She would be highly efficient at it.

Tsukasa: I can see her doing support of some sort.  Perhaps healer.  Or whatever job's easiest to play.  Something that always requires the same simple routine.

I agree that it's less common, but I come from FFXI and RO and maybe it's the nature of those games, but I'm not unaccustomed to girls playing tanks and/or DD.  In the case of FFXI, there's the job system, which allows for multiple high-level jobs on any single character.  And in RO, it's the tendency for everyone to play multiple classes/characters.

Unless you're thinking of "girls are white mages" stereotype, that hasn't been true my entire life.

In my entire life, girls have taken roles like ranger/hunter, warrior, and rogue/theif. NEVER casters. Casters tend to be more complicated than smacking things with your sword, or sending your pet to tank for you. Rogues are pretty fun sometimes too, I guess...

Ironic to your post, they tell me these classes are "sexy". XD;

But yeah, -I- prefer casters over melee. I can smack things around in real life, but how often can you shoot BALLS OF FIRE?

Episode 5 isn't done for me. =(

As a general survey, trying to be completely objective, I think I've seen girls play nuking mage classes more often than any other.  Then comes the healing mage class.  Just about everything else follows.

Not to stereotype or anything, but girls seem to tend to gravitate towards more supportive roles that demand more micromanagement.

If all of that is true... x.x; I've been living a lie!

YOU'VE SHATTERED MY WORLD! ;__;

It's strange. Really, now I felt that I've lived in some sort of bubble where all the servers I go to, and the cyber lounge I work at... it's the opposite. (I'm not being sarcastic, by the way. Seriously.)

The reason why I felt that way is that... stereotypically, girls don't play videogames. They normally try to play the easier classes. Take WoW for example-- girls like to choose melee classes because it's very easy just to go up to things and smack them. Also, they're typically high in HP so they don't have to worry about dying all the time.

But it's not likely they'd know how to tank, so props to Konata.

I assumed they don't normally choose casting classes because they're a bit more complicated. Not only are they more complicated, but you have a lot less HP. You also don't start out with much mana or useful spells, so you're useless until you level to a certain point. Also, as a mage, you pay attention to your buffs and you cast a set of spells in a certain order that you find is more mana-efficient, which I don't see many girls bother to calculate. (IE, you might see one spamming pyroblast and constantly using mana.) And when it comes to warlocks, you rely on your minion. Ideally, you use your tank Voidwalker, DOT like crazy, then spam all your dps spells right after.

As for priests... NO ONE WANTS TO BE A HOLY PRIEST! SHADOWPRIEST FTW. :D

There are also hybrid classes like shamans and druids. I've never in my life ever met a girl playing any of these. I get all giddy when I find out someone else plays WoW, and when I ask them what server than their main, it's normally...

"Oh, I play a hunter/warrior on blahblah server." It's also common for them to have a male character.

It's the opposite for the guys. "I play a mage/warlock on blahblah server." They sometimes have female characters, but only sometimes.

I started out as choosing male characters, because I'd preferred to be a boy. I choose girl avatars now, because I don't want to stare at a guy on my screen 24/7 now. XDDD

Do you think it depends on the area that we live in, or..? x.x
