Black and White Masquerade Ball in '07?

I am doing a victorian gown in black and silver with white accents including venetian masks.....is this to over the top for this event....

Sounds really great! I am going to be wearing a puffy black dress that shows off the shoulders with a mask with lots of feathers on it. ^_^

saturday, 7-10 pm.  we don't care if you come in a costume or formal wear.  you can come even if you're in street clothes, but consider that a mask would be better than nothing.

Does anyone know any good places to get masks? Preferably a plain either black or white satin mask, as I'm planning on decorating it myself, though places with good masks in general would be appreciated. ^_^

i did some searching online a while ago but i don't remember off the top of my head where i found some.  house of humor however would have some, and so might michael's.

You won't be wandering, you'll be dancing.  =)  It's not like people dance only with the person they bring to the dance, part of the fun is meeting new people and dancing with them. =)

I bought a black and white one at Joanne's crafts and fabrics...I will be painting skulls on them for my friends because I found a venetian mask in black and silver for me and a venetian cat mask both affordable from a party supply store...these were nicer then the ones I saw online and cheaper.

I might join in on this for kicks, I suck at dancing (at least the typical American dancing... which is... stuff) But uh, I'm willing to boogie on down and embarrass myself with my attempts. I should just be coming back from a gathering or dinner. I'll still be in my Farf gear but I'm mostly black and white, with a bit of blue and red thrown in there.

Don't worry about the dancing. I doubt that everyone who will go will actually know how to ballroom dance. It'll be fun to try though. ^_^ I am excited.
