Hi there!
I just went to my first con out in Texas this past weekend (at 21..my first con... is that so very sad?) and got hooked!

I've been wanting to go to Fanime since high school, but just never had the travel, resources, and most importantly, partners in crime!

A couple friends and my brothers and I are hoping to go in 2008 now  :)  I've been scouring the site looking for info and whatnot, but can't seem to find something that the other convention had.

You have a "Dealers' Den", but do you have a place for small-fries to sell stuff?
The other one had a LOAD of different artists selling prints and commisions, people selling stuff like home-made anime hats, webcomic artists had tables, that sort of thing!
It was the "Artists' Alley".
Just a bunch of little league types trying to pass the word around about their stuff.

Do you have anything like that at Fanime?  :)

if you mean something in the terms of a giant hall with various tables set up, with various people selling ther hand-made plushies, art, sketches, and so on.....then yea, we have something like that.

but its not called the artists' alley; it was called the "artist's colony" this year, but its basically the same thing.

Yup!
That sounds right!  Is there any information on the site concerning this?  :)
I'm not thinking '08, but my brother and I might set something up in '09 depending on several things.

Thanks for such a quick reply, by the way!

The site may be in flux because we need to transition from 2007 to 2008, but http://www.fanime.com/events/artist_colony.html currently contains information about the Artist Colony.  I believe the URL will change in about a month or so.

Raymei

oh yeah, I wasn't expecting info for '08 just yet.  I mean...the con JUST ended.
(although, truth be told, not sure how these things go just yet.  Only just getting into the con scene).

Thanks for the information!
