What would say if I played music while walking around.

I've seen many people to it, but I never followed them around to see what happens, I will of course turn it off like when I'm near the screening rooms.

I have alot of anime based music from Gintama, Naruto, Bleach, Hellsing, Some Gundam, Death Note, and so on and so forth.

And I can play some themes if I am near any Gatherings.

I think it would be cool if you were cosplaying from the series and then have the music with you.  ;D

If you're just in civilian clothes, it may not be as awesome.

Though being near gatherings with the music is cool. =)

I have a backpack with a speaker in it that I'm planning on doing the same thing with. I plan on adding it into my cosplay.

funny, I was considering putting mini speakers in my Sumomo hat, carrying an ipod nano and then dancing around like I was in "standby" mode!

I am going to be honest, most of the time people walking around with music playing just annoys me.  Especially in the elevators.  I really don't want to be subjected to your taste in music for an entire elevator ride thanks, especially when your taste in music involves gangsta rap (yes this actually happened last year on a crowded ride up).

The two exceptions to me being annoyed are: when it is incorporated WELL with a cosplay (and this doesn't mean putting the theme song on repeat and just standing around), and when it is really funny (the guy with a big ghetto blaster playing Beastie Boys last year is an example).

One other exception is if you take requests and have a song I request.  (This also happened on an elevator ride down with a different person and made the ride more entertaining)

Oh no elevators for me, I am takin the "mans way" and using the stairs! Also I might take a request or two, but I don't have every bit anime music there is.

I'd just request you be curteous about the volume.  If I can hear it before I see you or I can't hear the people I'm talking too it's definately too loud.  If you could keep the music at the same volume as you'd normally speak to someone in normal conversation it should be cool.
Sometimes I'm glad I became a teacher.  Other times I wish I had simply become a ninja.

I only play music from a boombox when I'm cosplaying Ryosuke from Initial D and have my FC3S costume with me, so when I'm "drifting" around the convention center I like to have the Super Eurobeat-Initial D music playing to add to the effect. ;)

I turn the music down when I'm approaching places where people are talking or giving demonstrations, like at Stage Zero.

I might do that this year at Fanime if my friend makes my NEW FC costume for me.  :)

Hehehe I love that Eurobeat Initial D CD because it has the most awesome cd title ever: Super EuroBeat Vol 130 ~INITIAL D SUPER EURO BATTLE~  :D

I tend to drive just a little too fast when I listen to it in my car.  :P

I'm thinking of doing this sort of thing with my Snowtrooper costume and playing Star Wars music..but not all the time or really loud. My main thing is I want it to be just loud enough so people can hear it like when I am walking by, but not loud enough to be really annoying.

I'm already going to have the voice amplifier so people can understand me..I am sure I can work music into those speakers as well.

I really hope this isn't going to become some sort of commonplace thing. It's cute when it's one or two people doing it and it's seriously related to the costume (Darth Vader with thhe Imperial March, or someone playing their character's image music from an anime - Nana's Sumomo plan comes to mind, that could be cute) but just wandering around taking requests for the sake of being noisy just sounds kind of aggravating to me.

Between loud talking, music from Stage Zero, the loudspeaker.. the con's already got a lot of ambient background noise. Do we honestly need a dozen different costumes pumping out a dozen different conflicting songs as well?

Mister_E

Well I will play it outside, I will out there most of the time, and I will turn it of while I am in the Convention hall.

I was thinking about tossing some speakers in my back pack on my Merchant costume to play some songs from RE4.

Biggest thing with mine is I am putting it together for 501st events (www.501st.com) which deal with kids a lot and they'll enjoy that sort of thing. Not sure if I'll be using the music at cons yet :P

I wouldn't mind. It wouldn't bother me any, especially if you say you would turn it off/really low when passing by screening rooms.
