I was just wondering, I may be going and just wanted to see what are common Cosplays? :) And what is everyone going as?

Depends on the hot anime that year...

There's a lot of Naruto and Bleach, that's for sure

Mister_E

I've noticed the most common in order

1) Naruto

2) Kingdom Hearts

3) Bleach

4) Death Note
A.K.A. "Mr. Zeon Flag" Laughing Man MK. VI: with Power Ranger Gloves, Mustache and Zeon Flag in hand is 100%

Yeah, there's always tons of Kingdom Hearts cosplayers. In 06 there was an INCREDIBLE amount of FMA cosplayers, but that definitely died down... I've also noticed a lot of D.Gray-Man cosplays, actually... And, of course, Naruto...

But, I think Kingdom Hearts has kinda gone on its own level. Or at least, thats what it seems like to me...

i think that the list of most common cosplays this year is going to look like this with the chance that gurren laggen will rank around #5
Cosplay Fanime 09
White & Red Ninja- 100%
Tuxedo mask - Sailor moon - 100%
Ginji- GetBackers 100%
Captain Kuro - one piece 100%

Eurobeat King

Don't forget about Ouran Host Club  You see a lot of cosplayers from that series as well. ;)

Alright, thanks everyone. ^^ Yeah, I definetly know those are going to be some top Cosplays.

Just wanted a general idea. Also are there a lot of different age groups there? This would be my first year going. I feel like such a Newb compared to everyone on their 4 year and up. XD I hav to see if I can handle it though.

The age range varies quite a bit. ^^ And it's actually quite fun, even if all you're doing is just walking around sometimes. The attendees at Fanime are quite wild and creative.

What is the variety of ages? I know, I was reading the Events Page and I was like oh my gosh this looks so fun!

Doesn't this thread belong in the cosplay forum?

Anyway, this is what i've seen so far from all the cons that I've gone to here in California, Washington and Virginia:

Naruto

FMA

Bleach

Kingdom Hearts

FFVII

Death Note

Everything else below that, it's not REALLY HOT like those series are. Those are my top 4 and the top 4 which I have actually banned in my head from taking pics. I've seen them all.

I know, I saw that after and was like oh shoot. XD Wrong Forum. Thanks. ^^

Ahh... everyone pretty much said which ones were popular. Although, Final Fantasy in general is cosplayed a lot (mostly VII and X-2). I'd really like to see FF I-VI and Tactics cosplay more often...

As Chiri Kcrinh said, the age group varies. Usually, the biggest age groups are teenagers and young adults.

From what I've seen so far, it's about... say, 13-20-ish years of age. Or at least... I can't really tell how old most people are. >.> There are probably a lot of older people, too that just look young.. >.>;;

It actually ranges from generally 13-35, with a small percentage of those who are younger, and a chunk of those in their 30's and late 40's.

the age range is unfair when you got a 10 year old cosplaying and he wins the contests just cause his mom made him a cute costume >_< sry its just unfair and anoying

That's mostly what I've seen in most every con I've gone too.
You tame a dog with food, you tame a man with money, but you can never tame the wolf of Mibu (Miburo).

TaikoMoon

Basically everything that has been said. You may get your fill of Naruto and bleach which by far are still the most popular. Don't get me wrong- they are good series but variety is nice too.

FMA is still hot it seems and there is a rise in Death Note cosplays. I suddenly feel like I am talking about weather.

But you will find some outstanding cosplays. There was one person who had an all leather dragon warrior outfit. It was totally amazing. He did the whole thing himself. It was amazing. Another fun one I have seen was a Pocco Rosso. XD which reminds me of the Nausicca and her omu that was running around. XD Was so fun to see them get into the elevator.

Some people also put their own twists to cosplays such as the year when there was a Mario group. It was a pimp mario, thuggn' toad, and a Peach ho... hooker... stripper... something like that. And a pimped out Optimus with some bling and spinners.

OH Tetrus was popular one year too.

"Friendly fire isn't"
'08 cosplay(s) All still debatable:
Chibi Maya/tenjho tenge
Ibuki/Street Fighter

IamTetsuo

Vash the Stampede and Inuyasha are always popular.  As is Cloud.

And despite these cosplays being so popular they are more often than not horrible (no a dyed red bathrobe and a white wig does not make a good Inuyasha).  Although anyone with a bit of cash can pull off a decent Vash now thanks to his coat being so easy to buy.

TaikoMoon

Oh yeah, didn't hot topic sell some stuff like that? I think they had some Naruto stuff up casually for sale as well as a Vash jacket.
