Hmm.  Rosewood would be on the harder side to find -- have you considered looking for unfinished wooden beads and just painting them?  Most craft stores carry either those or some other kind of wooden bead that might work well enough -- at worst, you can lightly sand down an extant finish.
I didn't realise they were wood -- I was thinking of a standard Buddhist prayer bracelet, and a lot of those that you see are semi-precious gemstone.

(I am myalchod on LJ.  50% work blather, 50% cosplay blather, 98% friendslocked because I only want to show the world at large my fanfic, for some reason.  Yeah ...)
2012 Plans:
  • Gypsy Queen / Kaya Syokka (Trinity Blood)
  • Risai (Juuni Kokki/Twelve Kingdoms)
  • Shusui (Saiunkoku Monogatari)
  • others TBD

The ones that I found ARE rosewood.
I have considered that, but I wouldn't want something so cheap. I love bracelets so I want something I can keep.

I'm no 100% on real Buddhist prayer beads being wood or gems but I was told wood. Besides, wood is much cheaper.

I don't really talk about cosplay or any one specific subject on LJ.
There's a lot of ranting, random out of the ordinary events or..my seriously cracked -out yet amazingly epic dreams/nightmares.
Not that I'm one of those people who believe their dreams or soo  significant, I just write the best ones down so I don't forget them.

100% of the above are things no one ever reads/comments on. It's part of why I deleted my old account ( that and stalker-hacking) >_<

Bit of a different topic but speaking of rant worthy things:

I used to right a bit about work back when I used my LJ but I stopped writing in it along time ago. I'll mention if I get a new one anytime soon : )

EDIT: Think you have to register to see the link. But trust me it's well worth reading.

yamaneko

. . . I just realized that I'd said I'd update, and then totally blanked and didn't update at all. @_@ Oye. I'm losing it.

Anyways, Hiro, what time should I be at your place before the REBORN! shoot? o.o And I might not end up making the cupcakes after all @_@ Lots of plans were made for me while I was at tennis practice, apparently, and now I'm totally busy tomorrowwwwww~ @_____@ Mostly with medical forms and forms in general for tennis D: It sucks pretty bad, but. . .

Hm. The last thing I need is another forum and reason to be pissed off. I actually do not enjoy being pissed off believe it or not >P

Work wasn't interesting enough to write about..unless one of the captains decided to stop by and hide from work.
It was on a military recruiting/training site.
No, I didn't do anything awesome...unless you count throwing knives at and playing jokes on my co-workers. THAT made it worth while.

I work for a medical device company.  I work with engineers.  I think that says a great deal all by itself.  :D

On the other hand, I get some awesome stuff here because we're scrapping it out or whatever.  Got a bag full of these bippy little disposable scalpels at home that are good for a variety of cosplay things, I never have to worry about having latex/vinyl gloves, and I've made lanyards out of scrap catheters for fun.  Now I just need to figure out how to use them for cosplay ...

(But I should really finish up Kcon projects first.  Sigh.)

Oh my that sounds..interesting. Mainly the word 'engineers' I hear their not quite right in the head.

The closest I've come to playing with medical supplies is that when I was little I used to keep the rubber turnicates ( sp)  and fling them at nurses. Oh, and chew on IV lines
That was childish of me, I know.  Now that I am a mature adult I have gone on to throwing plushies. Still chew on IV lines though.*nods*
( Nurses REALLY piss me off)

Hey! I don't suppose you could get any bandages could you? I need A LOT for my Renji and probably Kanda, cosplay.

Oh and this is very random but remember a while ago when I said that I loved 'cocaine clown'?

Well I made this...

I thought it was lost forever!
I doubt anyone get's it. It's kind of a joke combined from from Metalaccolypse and The Chapelle show.

like omfg I'm learning the 14th's musician score ^ ^
"When The Snow Melts, What Does It Become?"
"It Becomes Water"
Bzz" Bzz, Wrong It Becomes Spring Silly"
"Spring Is My Favorite Season Of All"

Cosplays
???

Charis

Oooh, Toshi, that's awesome!  :3

Can't help you with the bandages, Yuu -- we make things like catheters and shunts in the building, and so unlike a doctor's office or a hospital, we don't carry things like that.  (But if you ever need little bits of silicone tubing, let me know.  XD )

Yes, it is awesome. I would learn but am soo not musically inclined.

That's too bad. Man, I'd love to work in a..bandage factory. Ooh the hours of fun I could have with that.

Holy crap the weather here is freakin awesome!  It was warm enough to hit the giant water-park..even if I did get burnt to mother f-ing crisp.

Unfortunately all of my friends are VERY motherly and were all " OMG!! What happened to you?! Why didn;t you wear sunscreen?!"  *Nag,nag naggity, nag^

I told them I was attacked by Skin Boric. Worked too. They were too busy "WTF-ing' to continue their nagging LOLZ

Yea, I laugh now.. -_-;

Hirotona

LOL... oh man I hate sun burn like the plague >____> Everytime someone talks about awesome weather I expect to hear about nice snow or cloudy conditions but hear about sunny and hot.

... yes my expectations tend to be rather odd or depending on your opinion contraian.

I hate them too. I have a seriously crazy pain tolerance, but out of everything burns hurt the WORST.  Ugh..and the peeling and blisters..nasty.

I LOVE  hot weather enough that I'll deal with the burns.
Besides, it isn't like I didn't have any sun screen, or even forgot to apply it. I just..didn't so I can't complain.

It probably depends on where you live. In Cali you almost never get snow right? here it is ALWAYS  raining so I'm grateful for the occasional decent summer.

I want to move back to Seattle so very badly.  T_T  Granted, I left there when I was three, but I maintain that was enough time for me to decide that is good weather -- either that, or my Eastern European blood makes me curl up and die with heat.  Probably both.  (It is after midnight and I'm lying here in a tank top and shorts with the fan going because it's still too hot for me.  That says something -- as does the fact that it's less warm than the last house I lived in, where it would still be between eighty-five and ninety at this hour.)  It snows here about every five to ten years, and when I say "snows" I mean that it gets cold enough in the mountains that snow comes down and maybe lasts for, at most, two or three days.  Santa Barbara is smack-dab between mountains and ocean, so the weather is seldom cold enough for that, and our mountains are lower.  (I can drive to the beach in ten minutes, and I'm at the foothills, for perspective.)  Of course, it actually rains (as opposed to occasional bits of drizzle) about every three years, and we always get floods and mudslides with that.  FAIL.

I hate hot, but I hate sunburns more.  I swam competitively for most of my childhood and up into high school, and I had my fill of burns there.  (And then, my first Ren Faire, forgot that seldom-exposed cleavage would burn like the dickens scorched my chest and shoulders quite nicely.)  However, I do miss having a tan.  :\

I also miss having time and being productive.  Come back, motivation, come back!

Is it possible to have this later on Sunday so the people who want to go to the Clamp gathering can make both? Anywho, thanks for the consideration.

Charis

Isn't it really early to be looking at scheduling ...?

Just a bit. Good thing it isn't up to me. I would never ever accommodate CLAMP cosplayers. I hate CLAMP so hard.
Hell, I'd make it early on Sunday just to be a bitch..not that I am. >P

Back on the topic of weather it's gray ad crappy now. Last night there was hugenormous thunderstorm felt like a damned Earthquake.I thought the house was gonna collapse on me ( this house is very, very old and shitty)

Hirotona

Well I'm only around usually when it's not uni time for me, and most of uni time for me has much cooler weather despite what others have said about me getting tired of it I haven't and won't. Most other Californian's will whine even when it's high 60's about how cold it is : / The weather for the most part this summer actually has been suprisingly nice (for the season) with only eight or ten days of 90 plus degree weather and many record lows in the low 70's.

As for the time I like it. XD;; and it so far it seems to accomadate all the main thread goers well enough. Make it later in the evening and I imagine it will interefere with other gatherings, plus I don't want to have to rush back and forth all day to different gatherings.
