I'm not sure Nunnally is actually dead. I mean, how the hell did Rolo get out? If he made it, then Sayoko's ninja hax should be more than enough to ensure hers and Nunnally's survival, too.

I like how the tragedy in this episode is not easily blamed on a single person. Actually, Code Geass has a lot of interesting moral gray areas like this, but FLEIA's detonation was particularly complex. I mean, you could blame Nina for envisioning it and wanting it to go off, Schneizel for funding its development, Lelouch for haphazardly using a geass with such unpredictable long-term consequences, Suzaku for firing it or even for getting into the situation where he had to, Kallen and Lelouch for threatening Suzaku's life such that he had to fire it, and even people like Lloyd and Cecile for not stopping the bomb from being equipped to Lancelot in the first place.

Though I also believe it may be a possibility. Given that the craft did not seem to take off or show signs of leaving the building, and the sudden revelation of the firing of FLEIA, the only way Nunally could survive is if the scene after the explosion was perspective-based (And the engulfing of the light around her body in the actual explosion is pretty straightforward, not side-profiled. But then again, a gunshot and Nunally's movement at the end of R1 was pretty defined looking...). Lelouch's words of "I couldn't contact Sayoko" could possibly be opened ended, if not, the device lost. But though she's a ninja, she's still human. Such a blast radius is humongous.

Also note the Milly area of the scene as she was running from the mess. Nice details there.

Yeah, no one likes Nina. She's class A insane, blood driven. Such a scientist on a team is enough for humanity to hang its head in shame.

And now it all begins to fall apart. The important data Todo received must be the lineage data.

Anya's got to have some geass relation.

So there's a lot of hubbub right now about a review with Taniguchi Goro where he says that basically all of R2 was rewritten from scratch because of concerns about things like the timeslot:

I mean, this doesn't come as much of a surprise to me, since I knew the show was planned for 50 episodes, then cut to 25, then expanded back to 50, so it's natural that a lot of material would have to change, and it was clear from a lot of aspects of R2 that the show was working its way around R1 events that would be inconvenient for the show to "start over" as its own season... But now we have direct confirmation that R2 wasn't what it was meant to be.

Whatever, I'm still looking forward to seeing how they wrap up the series.

The past two episodes have been a parade of "There, it finally happened!" and "Wow, it really was true" moments for me. I mean, plenty of things happened that I didn't see coming (end of ep 20) and some things happened sooner than I expected, but still...

That said, it's not a bad thing that things are playing out this way. Several things I've been waiting on for a while finally happened.
