Wow. That's... just heartsinking.

Mervyn's? Circuit City? CompUSA? I don't shop at these places very often, but the fact that they'll be gone is just... weird. Time to stock up on stockings.

No, not really. I mentioned it because Mervyn's is closing down and I'd actually save money. :U

Faaaaaaaawk, those stores are going down too, huh... Sucks. I used to hella play around with stuff in Sharper Image. Most of the KB's around here have been long gone, but you know, it's cool to see a few still around, but I guess.... not anymore. Disney stores? ALL OF the Discovery Channel stores? What is the world coming to?

I'm getting old.

I'm not kidding either.

Wow... One of the Ann Taylors that went down was in Sac's Arden Mall... It's now replaced by Armani Exchange...
A lot of stores also reduced its store sizes... I believe there was an entire mall somewhere around the area that went down...
I hope Arden stays up, but I doubt that'll go down anytime soon...

jazmatazz

and to think, not only are we losing those stores/products, thousands of people are getting laid off. X_x it's times like these i feel a bit of relief i'm in the service.

but foot locker, seriously though, was a bit of a shocker. i mean to think that nearly all of them if NOT all of them are closing down;  you'd think that they'd at least keep a few stores open in bay, especially with all the sneaker fiends in that area, aha.

Well this certainly helps me to know where NOT to sign up for a job.

How depressing... Stupid economy. -_-;

I heard all the Linens and Things stores already closed this summer(I could just be thinking of the California stores, but meh).

The Circuit City closing saddens me though. Better customer service than Frys, yet cheaper than Best Buy >>. I personally don't see the point in having a Sharper Image store since hardly anyone buys from that store. It's only good for window shopping at best.

I find it HECKA FUNNY that there were some new Steve and Barry's stores that just opened up in San Jose/Milipitas recently and now they're closing it up.

And yeah, Pacific Sunwear = PacSun.

Yeap. That's a mighty fine economy alright.

Kazuko

oh snaps Pacsun...wow I thought they did well due to the popularity of punk clothing and such D:

; ; whats next sephora closing oh god no the day they do im leaving the country

All we have out here is Walmart and a dollartree.
I was real sad when Mervyns said they were closing...I'd drive an hour to them, just to shop there.

Well.. CompUSA was already hurting before. They did close all the stores in our area a few years back.

All of this just plain sucks. It is always sad.

Mervyn's is the one I'm going to miss. A lot of the rest of these (CompUSA, Sharper Image, Linens 'n Things) are good riddance, and the rest don't seem to be hurting that bad. (What, Macy's is closing 9 stores? That still leaves them tons.)

Still doesn't bode well for the economy, though.

I think it was bound to happen.. like there is too many of those stores like there are Starbucks. It isn't really special or exciting to go because they are all the same. I am actually surprise we have stores since a lot of people order stuff online, but then I forget that people need instant grat too :(.

That, and it's a lot easier and cheaper to return something if need be.
