I'm surprised they didn't play on the fact that Shima was a ghost. I mean, I haven't seen the original or played the game, but... perhaps that's just a storytelling development that was missed early on?

Well, technically he was a cat with Shima's appearance and personality or something. The game doesn't really "play" on that point any more than the anime does.

The thing that kind of surprised me, though, is that the wish light wasn't the cause of the perfect attendance streak.

On another topic, the OP/ED single for this show came out today. I wasn't able to obtain a real copy (despite trying every import method I could) but regardless, it's damn good.

Episode 7 starts Miyazawa arc. Holy crap, you thought there was lots of material not from the game in the last arc? This one blows it away in that regard. The story only bears a slight resemblance to the original path.

That said, it's not like this is entirely bad or anything. Just, very different.

But hell, I wouldn't have minded an extension of Misae stuff beforehand.

Though, I'd much have rather seen Sunohara throw down with the other gang leader.
Yuki-nee stepping in for her brother was also pretty epic.

That was a pretty good episode. Perhaps, though, I should have started out watching the original before the second season? I'm surprised at how much I understand and enjoy without prior experience/bias though.
