Jerry

so it seems like everyone and their best friend is playing this game.

my roommate bought it for his ps3, funny how he didnt offer to let me play considering he ended up borrowing my ps3 controler to play versus with his friend.

Graphics look nice [though ive seen all the trailers etc etc.] but I actually havent got my hands on it yet.

is it really worth $60 tho?

seems like alot to pay for a fighting game nowadays. :P

For a game like this, anything other that a stick just doesn't seem right.
Time And Relative Dimension In Space.

Ironically, I would politely disagree.

Since SNES days, I had to literally master [or just get used to] using the controler lay out given to me. Sure I would prefer the feel of a joy stick and buttons i dont have to reach or use the same hand to QCP [quarter cricle punch] with my left thumb and left index finger only. I literally knew players would play with one [and sometimes two broken arms]. :P

Sometimes I could do combos with only the controler, and sometimes I do certain combos with the Joy/Arcade Stick.

But after playing til about 4am this morning, I've unlocked 3 characters: Dan, Sakura, Gen. and scene endings for: Chun Li, Ryu, Ken & Sakura.

Ironically I was REALLY impressed with the opening of the game, but although the anime-ish cute scenes [and optional jp voices] as well as semi-interactive backgrounds are nice. I was disappointed in the VERY short [and sometimes anticlimatic] endings.

Did I mentiong that Seth is a total cheap bitch? [unless you figure out his attach patter and exploit it]

So anyone figure out tiers yet? I cant believe I'm counting frames and developing strategties and mentally counting quarter usage in my head.

ah, the random nostalga of spending countless hours and lunch moneys at the local 7-11.

by the way did anyone notice that some 7-11 sell video games? [triple A titles only of course] but i was like whoa. sure 3am, I'll take a slurpee, a box of condoms and oh let me pick up a Reservation for Resident Evil 5 thanks.  :P

Hahaha, that last line... I read that in the newest Official Xbox Magazine

Seth is a super cheap bitch and he needs to fucking die

Unlocking Seth took forever and no way in hell will I ever be getting that "BEAT GAME WITH EVERYONE ON NORMAL" thing

I currently have about 800BP on ranked but whenever you win, you receive about 50BP and you lose up to 90! (ibDON'TLOSELOL)

I fucking LOOOOOOVE Rose and Dictator

Points are based on amount of opponent. If you have 2000 and your opponent has 0 and you win... you get like 4. If they win they get like 200 and you lose 200.

I currently have like 2600 I think. 125/4.

Dunno if people heard about this, but when you doing the challenge of unlocking characters without
continues you can have a 2nd player jump in when you are about to loose. It beats having to start over from scratch and you can unlock a lot faster. Just need to unlock Seth and Gouken and I am done.

Not nearly as cheap as Seth is, even at easiest :P

I agree Seth is a cheap bastard, seems like the only way to beat him is doing a bunch of sweeps.. lol.

Seth is easy to beat, seriously. I don't see why people are having any trouble against CPU Seth. It's not hard to block things, and if he's in SPD range you should be hitting him before he can SPD you.

To be honest, I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE talking about fighting games with people that suck at fighting games, but they talk as if they know about fighting games.

Seth is actually extremely easy for a last boss. Go play virtually any SNK game, those are broken last bosses.

buzzsaw13

What do you expect on a board for an anime convention? If you want to talk fighting games with people who play them, go to SRK.

Good luck at trying to hit Seth out of a 2 frame throw.

Jerry

I actually agree with Pyron, [whoa weird i know]

once you learn to antipate his standard CPU pattern he's not that bad, so in theroy it would be a chore to defeat him medium, but do what most players have been doing: set the arcade mode to 1 bout. then you dont have to deal with the 2nd [more cheesier, but still beatable] form.

played both xbox and ps3 version, and i prefer it on the ps3 controllers,

and just like everyone else, still trying to unlock Seth. :P

Actually, my experience has been that if you set it for one bout, it goes right to the cheesier form, do not pass go, do not collect $200.  Of course, your mileage may vary.  If you stick with characters that you're comfortable with or at least have some power to him, you'll do better against him.  However, if you're doing the unlocking grind and playing as characters you're not good at or are on the weak side just to unlock characters, then it's going to be more of a pain.
