Just wondering.  I went last year and loved the karaoke.  My question is, are people allowed to sing stuff that's currently playing on the radio or from popular singers/bands (like Maroon 5, Matchbox 20, etc) or is the format strictly anime and J-pop?

Inquiring minds want to know :)  Thanks....

Yes and no. Karaoke staff usually allows it, but some people frown upon it.

Suggestion, don't just make threads with every thing you have to say. Read other threads, there's a good chance there's a topic where your post would belong rather than make an all new thread, or even answers to your question already.

In other words, people are allowed to sing stuff that is currently playing on the radio IF it appears in an anime/video game or is J/K-*insert music genre*

Contests are always anime/j-rock/j-pop/video game songs only.

For open mic, if it's not too busy, we might allow "regular" songs (which you would need to bring) at our discretion. If it's busy, anime/J-rock/J-pop/video game songs will have priority.
