L from Death Note. He never should have died.
I would have also liked Mello to live, or at least be in more episodes, and have a more epic death scene. They spent only about 4 seconds on his death. One panel in the manga. And Matt. He was in one episode. ONE. Such an awesome character should not be shot out just after he's introduced.
Deidara. I really didn't think he should have died, even though his death was epic. I wish Itachi hadn't died, but it was kind of inevitable. Sasori, too.
That's all I can think of at the moment. I'll probably remember others later. :P

Just remembered people from FMA. How did I miss that?
Hughes. For sure, should NEVER have died. I cried so much at the funeral scene.
Hmm. I love Wrath, and I kind of wish he wouldn't have died, but he was reunited with his mommy, so I can't really say truthfully that he shouldn't have died.
The girl with the dog in like... some of the very early episodes. I can't remember her name. I wish she hadn't died. She was so cute and innocent.
I wish that Alex Rowe, from Last Exile, didn't die. He was so kickass.
Everybody (excluding Darcia) from Wolf's Rain.

L had +1 luck and light had +20  :'(

but I think the author was trying to point out the fact that "two heads are better than one" or
a whole is greater than the sum of its parts".

Nagisa from Clannad after story.

Its one is a big one for me. It made me really sad, even though I knew it was coming because I watch the movie. I wasn't too sure that it was going to come up in that episode. I almost cried.  :'(

I don't think I'm going to finish the series any time soon because its depression as hell (Nagisa was such a sweet, kind girl who loved everyone...its sooo SAD T_T) and I already know what going to happen.

My #1 is Hughes from FMA. Hughes was too awesome to die the way he did.

ryuyasha

Definitley Hughes, Nina, and her dog, should not have died. Nor should have Kakashi or Jiraiya. And L should have lived, along with Greed from FMA. I hate greed's death scene, he wasn't even evil ><

Suspicious

Nia from Gurren Lagann >O  FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I agree with Kamina's death though.  Heartbreaking as it was, Simon could not have moved forward and develop as an independent character if he's always following Kamina's footsteps from behind.

Misa from Deathnote should've died when they introduced her character >X
