Are there any particular anime series that are better dubbed?

Full Metal Alchemist, Trigun, and Cowboy Bebop. These are at the top of my dubbed list. I typically enjoy subbed better then dubbed... but those three anime I could not watch in subbed after enjoying dubbed. It was not the same. In the case of Trigun; It is actually funnier in English then in Japanese. The jokes are funnier.

Another decent one is Inuyasha...and I didn't think DBZ was THAT bad either.

Naruto dubbed makes me sick to my stomach...as do a few others.

They were alright.
It's funny how my buddy just a month ago wouldn't even touch Bleach because he watched Dubs, then when we watched Movie 1 & 2 he couldn't get enough. Apparently the Subs made it that much better.

Well... you realize... Naruto was dubbed for children. Bleach was dubbed for teenagers.

It all goes back to localization. Something pretty much no one understands, so they just bitch and complain about everything. The reason why things are dubbed a certain way, why certain people are chosen, and why the translation is what it is. Really... if you think about it, it makes perfect sense.

BumbleB

Subs are always better than dubs. ;D

I agree Bleach dub is better than Naruto dub. Naruto: "Believe it!" Ichigo: STFU!!! *kills with zanpaktou*

One of the WORST dubs is Higurashi. Shion's laugh=FAIL

I understand that but from a perspective as a fan of the show it just make me a little anger. If you read the manga and watched the anime for a while you would think if was aimed for younger adults. It's pretty much was so I guess it was a shocker when they dubbed it for children.

If you read the manga and watched the anime, you'd realize it's aimed towards children between 6-14.

You realize Shounen Jump is geared towards that age group right? As a *fan* pretty much any anime that isn't aired late night is geared towards at the oldest teenagers around 16.

To be completely honest, most dubs are pretty decent for what they are worth. Preference wise, I like things in their natural language... regardless. Sometimes dubs are better, but I generally really don't like dubs of any language.

There are horrendous dubs... lots of horrendous dubs.

But to my main point. Who gives a damn what you think of the dub, unless you prefer dubs. If you don't, really who cares, because you don't watch them anyways right? If you watch dubs only to talk crap about them, think about what that says about you. I've worked in localization, I've done auditions for VA'ing, I've directed VA'ing for major projects, hell I've been a VA in a commercially released product.

People really don't know what it's like, and why most of the choices are made.

WRONG. Naruto is NOT aimed for 6 yr olds. Non Shippuden Naruto is aimed for 11+. Have you seen Shippuden yet? With the amount of blood and swearing in it, it should be 14+.

Shonen Jump is NOT aimed for 6-14 either. It says right on the magazine PARENTAL ADVISORY! SHONEN JUMP IS RATED T FOR TEEN. You stated that the shows late at night were meant for 16 yr olds. *Checks TV guide* on Adult swim BLEACH isn't aired fairly late. But Death Note is. A true Shonen Jump fan would not make the mistake of forgeting Death Note was published in Shonen Jump and BLEACH IS STILL IN THERE along with Naruto. Sorry for ranting, I <3 u all  ;D

Hi, welcome to America. Where anything with the remotest amount of violence, anything close to questionable, or even mentions blood is "TEEN AND OLDER!!!!"

I was referring to the JP standards... you know... where this stuff comes from?

A REAL FAN, knows origins, not just what they like. I know much about the US airings, and US standards, but I refer to JP standards... and when things are aired there. I don't give a damn what time it's aired in America because it doesn't matter.

wwwwwwwwwwww American fans that don't know anything about anything.

BumbleB

@ PyronIkari I'm sorry, I thought you were refering to the American standards. As I said earlier the original is better.Don't call me an American fan that doesn't know anything because I am half asian. Thank you very much.

I keep forgetting to watch that anime!

Cromartie did have a good dub. Haven't seen it with the original Japanese track to compare it, though.

This has probably already been said, but I find Hellsing's (and Ultimate's) dub to be fantastic, although the English track has the advantage with the accents and everything.

Did you seriously think that apologizing to PyronIkari was going to work? I mean, he's the type of guy that's "I don't know you, I don't know anything about you, I have no relation with you whatsoever, and I have nothing to base this on...but you're an retard." So I dunno what you were thinkin. Did you want him to forgive you? XD Sorry, kinda makes me laugh.

You don't need to "know" someone to know they've said/done something stupid. I have nothing to base this on? Those posts are something to base it on... isn't it? This coming from a different retard, why am I not suprised?
