OK I think this goes here, anyway how much dose it cost to get from the airport to the hotel? Its only like 4 miles so is $10 good for a cab? Also I will be getting in at7AM-8AM on Friday if some one would like to split the cab that would be cool with me.
Some times you have to get away for it all and other times you must get back to it all.

*time for a story*

For fanime 2006, I flew in from Seattle to San Jose airport. This is where I met some random dude that was dressed up as a person from Kingdom hearts, I assumed this because of his key-blades he was carrying. He apparently seemed familiar with the surroundings so I proceeded to follow him to the shuttle pick-up and drop-off station. And then this is where I found out the guy didn't know what he was doing because there were no shuttles that went to either of our hotels. (I don't know about now though)

I paid $20 to take a cab. It actually came out to be $14 but I went ahead and let the cab driver keep the $6 because it seemed awkward as he was searching his all of his pockets for change. o.0 The dude I shared the cab with didn't pay for his share because he claimed to be a "poor otaku".

There is a possibility for rates to have gone up.

This info on the San Jose City website may be useful to you: http://www.sjc.org/travelers/taxi.html
Look at the estimated charges at the bottom of the page and always carry a combination of $10s, $5s and $1s that total up to $40.  I'm assuming that your measurement of 4 miles is line-of-sight... Cabs almost never travel a line-of-sight path.

No trouble at all. San Jose natives are supposed to help visitors.
Safe trip here, have fun and have a safe return home with many memories ;D
