I'm really behind on the times, considering this game is only being released domestically as of this this week. But I know some of you have been playing it since last fanime since I saw it in E-gaming last year and had no idea about this new cross over by Capcom.

So basically is it worth spending $50 on?

Could you guys talk/rant discuss about the mechanics? Favorite chracter combos? broken characters?

is there already EVO footage already?

etc etc etc.  :)

This is an updated version of the game that was out around at Fanime. Karas is less broke, mechanics changed a bit, but I don't know the game well enough to be a pro on talking about it or anything.

I was just curious if its compatible with say the Gamecube controller or if its even playable with the Wii mote and chuck. Then again I'll have to stop by Fry's or something and check out the controler specs on the back.

If anything I almost admit that I'm not very familar with the Characters from the Tatsunoko universe with the exception of the Gatchaman team and Tekkaman characters.

Barnes I'd figure you like fighting games in general, but i found it interesting that no one has hyped this game much or am I that out of touch with the 2D fighting games out now. :P

It can be played with the wiimote by itself, the wiimote X nunchuck combo, wavebird, wired controllers, and with the Hori sticks(I GOTS ONE); Madcatz are making Wii versions of the SFIV Tournament Fightstick, which still look damn good but are still crazy expensive.

One of the characters from the JP version got cut from the US game(Hakusho Daimo), but from this we ended up getting Frank West (Dead Rising), Tekkaman Blade, Zero (Megaman), Yatterman-2, and Joe the Condor (Gatchaman); The control scheme is the easiest of all the 'Versus' games so far(three attack buttons and a partner button), and it has online play(which I was really holding out for)....that, and a US release.

I probably know as much as Mizuki about characters for TvC(probably a wee bit less), but he is right about Karas who was broken and felt like a technical fighter to me; the level 3 super for Batsu(which varies depending on your team), when combined with the right partner character, can destroy half of your opponents lifebar.

Personally, this game, Red Steel 2 and Monster Hunter 3 are the Wii games I've been waiting for this year.

How is Viewtiful Joe?  I saw him in some vids and immediately wanted to play as him.

The first game is pretty good, you can find the game used for under $10 at gamestop. No idea about the 2nd game, I am guessing that it was a OK game.

It is too bad about not adding Phoenix Wright to the game. Still pretty fun to play and watch anyways.

I mean how is he in TvC?

And I completely agree with the Phoenix Wright thing.  It would have been awesome to fight as him.  There's always the future...

Oopse.. sorry I misunderstood your question.

From what I  have seen he is a fun character to play in TvC. I love it that you can use his slow down
"ultra" in the game.

:::sigh:::

Anyways.

Joe was pretty good in the first incarnation. Had pretty decent damage, and small hit box. He had a REALLY good run away game with Red Hot Kick and stuff, so people played him as a run away character for the most part. His assist was really for block string setups for meter and pressure, but he wasn't top. Just decent.

In the newer version, they changed this. He can no longer run away all day for free because they added delay to the recovery which makes it kinda easy to hit if he's trying to just run with it. He's still decent, but nothing special about him.

But I hate this game anyways because of what Capcom released yesterday, so I will never play it ever again.

They released a page in Arcadia or another magazine that had "rejected ideas" with characters such as Pheonix and Komugi.
