Since im out of state and i have no clue whatsoever how to apply, i want to ask a few questions before I go and apply for a permit on my Spring break

1. Is it ok if my mom/dad is the one who's name is on the permit instead of mine?

well, mostly because i dont have a driver's license and i looked at the form and it said it requires for the person to have one.

ill be flying alone to San Jose from arizona, so my mother wont be accompanying me in the con

is that possible or..?

It should be okay if your parent's name is on the seller's permit, as long as you provide written and signed permission from them for you to use the seller's permit. Although, if you are 18 or older, be warned that you still might need to get your own permit with your name on it.

im 17 : D

so im still BARELY underage haha

but thankfully that settles it, because my mom wouldnt budge on letting me get my license even though it means me not attending any conventions orzzz;

A state ID works just as well for identification purposes. You were talking about flying over by yourself, but airlines have gotten pretty strict with allowing school IDs instead of state issued ones.

nikuleon

oh, well that works too, i thought it was strictly only for state licenses and ID's wouldn't work on the permit requirements

In California your license number is the same as your ID number, so I don't see that it would be different for other states. Also, what if you're physically handicapped and can't drive a car? They wouldn't be able to discriminate like that.
