A public golfcourse is considered taboo in many cultures primarily because humans have an innate feeling of vulnerability when engaged in a golfing act. When two or more people are grabbing a golf club during play in a golfcourse, their hands are bound together and they cannot easily free their limbs for escape or self-defense if physically assaulted.(or if someone cheats at the game)

Par arousal also distorts a person's capability to focus on other physical or mental tasks because the human brain has instinctively evolved to divert the energy of the mind and body towards completing a perfect game.Furthermore -*goes on for 20 pages of minor details.*

-and therefore we have the reason why people golf in places with huge walls and not out in public. This is the reason we build shelters and weapons to protect from danger when engaging in pleasureful activities, including Magic: The Gathering.

Well, I'm going to invoke the OTAKUYA GOLFING CHALLENGE.

Here's the deal:

Please reply to this thread and substantiate your claims... *blah blah blah*.... Tiger Woods.

There is a 72 minute limit from the tee-box to the green.

If you fail, you will get a 90 stroke penalty.

Enjoy.

Now, now there is no need to get angry, this is a general discussion area and I am making this proposition out of pure curiosity about the reason why setting up a make shift golf course from out of nowhere is prohibited in public. I simply want to waste everybody's time by pretending all of you are as smart as me and can understand my vastly superior knowledge of golf.(and everything in existence as well)

otakuya

Who said I was angry?  Now you're just making up stuff.

That said, if your purpose was the encourage discussion, well, it turns out that this thread is full of win.  Without that, the original post just seems really out of place on an anime convention forum. For the Fanime Forums' Things in the Universe section, however, it's perfectly fine.

The argument itself is pretty epic, filled with win and poor trollers with their epic fails between them.

Also you still have provided substantiation of your claims, and have provided trivial discussion, but the 72 minute clock continues to run.
You have 57 to go to complete the OTAKUYA GOLFING CHALLENGE (for which you, Glitch, is in the lead)

What I'm saying is that people avoid setting golf games in the middle of traffic or in front of a court house is because it's rather inconvenient. This is a society that does not tolerate a lot of improvised things.  *goes on for 20 pages.*

(20 Page later reply ...)

Public Golf-courses are fine, as long as they're not in my back yard!
But I think a more important subject is the Innovations in School-kid transportation  post Mack Bus!

1.  Passive restraints to give the illusion that your kid is safe in their seat.
2.  Gasoline engines because nobody should ride in an oil-burner.
3.  Yellow paint bonding processes.
4.  Four wheels so the bus isn't lopsided and dragging a fender on the pavement.
5.  Turbojet engines, because that would be bitchin'!

The first school buses came out after World War II and were capable of street speeds of 64 Kmph.
Later, more ambitious ideas lead to Moms across the U.S. driving the kids to school because they missed the bus, the creating the need for mini-vans.  The Dodge Caravan is one.
Soon little boxy cars like the Toyota Bb, Kia Soul (and plus), Honda Element, and Nissan Cube began to replace Mini-vans, providing much better fuel efficiency and interiors that could be hosed down for cleaning.

The highway speed limits set the NTSB for the five passenger vehicles mentioned in this article are listed below:

1). Mack Bus                96 Kmph
2). Toyota Bb               96 Kmph
3). Kia Soul                 96 Kmph
4). Honda Element        96 Kmph
5). Nissan Cube            96 Kmph

... Oh yeah.  That's enlightening.

This explains why.
That's what happens when you don't follow proper procedures. Furthermore, advancement in flight technology-*goes off into unrelated subjects.*

Lol.

Anyway, all this golf talk reminds me of why you shouldn't throw candy bars into the pool.
I remember that movie.

Seriously, is this just about "FORE!"-play or what?
