BTW: I know this is crazy early, but I was thinking of angling for Monday for the gathering again next year - -worked out great this year, after all.  We do tend to try to coordinate gatherings obscenely early, as some folks on here know, which is why I figured I'd throw it out now and see if there were any thoughts.

Monday works just fine for me! ^_^ I'm going to do like I did this year anyway and pad out Fanime weekend with some extra time on either side to frolic in the Bay Area (because I miss it so ;_;), and so I can avoid having to change out of the rat-suit in the hotel loo. XD That'll be even more important this Fanime, since I'll be flying in from the other side of the country and haven't yet decided how I'm going to get the rat there. (I am REALLY AND TRULY RELUCTANT to pack him through airline baggage...)

I know what you mean about the airlines.
Possiblities include shipping him out to someone you trust enough out in the Bay Area that is driving in....
Or you can ship to the hotels. Especially hotels connected with conventions are used to this. You can always inquire about it with the hotel you pick to stay at.
I've done both when flying to other cons.
Either way I much prefer having insurance and tracking numbers on things than risk letting the airlines lose or destroy it with a "dunno what happened" story.

Depending on how much stuff I end up having to drive out for myself and others, and depending on how much space it'd take--I'm willing to see about having you ship out to me. We got plenty of time before con yet to figure such things out. ;D

Shipping back to home, if I were to have it shipped to me, I can either do that for you after con, or you could look for one of the UPS stores or such that are near Fanime.

And as times start to be chatted out ... sounds like we're good for Monday.  Any time preferences?  After check-out's a given, considering the attendant insanities.  We can shoot for 1:00 again if that works for people, or change if it doesn't -- I'm guessing we won't exactly be fighting for gathering space. ;)

Darn! I'll probably have to fly out on Monday...but if I AM able to stay I'm still debating on doing art version Suzu or art version (wandering) Youko. I'm leaning more towards Youko because there'll be a Rakushun, but if there end up being lots of Youko cosplayers, I'd prefer to do Suzu.

Lol, OR how about this? If tatterpixie is willing and able to wear Rakushun for photo shoot on either Sunday or Friday, I can get pictures of us together for my collection and I can add diversity to the Monday group (as Suzu), assuming I'm not flying out. I'm not trying to put anyone on the spot, *cough*tatterpixie*cough*, so you let me know if that is a possibility. (I'm just stoked about your Rakushun!)

I could totally wear the rat either Friday or Sunday! I have the Leiji Matsumoto-verse gather late Friday, and the FMA gather on Sunday 11-ish, so we could work around those times and figure something out. ^_^

Sorry for the delay! I thought I'd get an email reply notice, but I'm glad I checked! I'm so excited!! I can work with whatever times you have free, with the exception of Saturday. :) All my other meets are up in the air, so let's plan something! Which day/time is preferable to you? I hear there are nice 'trails' around the con and it might be great to get pics there!

Man, it would have been amazing if you could have attended Zenkai! I'm trying to find fellow Juuni Kokki cosplayers for Zenkaikon and I'm having such a hard time!! I think I may have found a Saiou and I've been working hard on my Suzu cosplay to wear with her. If you know anyone attending Zenaki in JK cosplay, please do let them know there is another person interested in meeting up! Unfortunately Suzu is not a very strong 'lone' cosplay. (And I'm doing the art version anyway, so no one would recognize me as Twelve Kingdoms.)

Belated hallo to Seven!

... y'know, on the subject of being recognised -- hilariously, with the Seattle crew who got me into JK (two of whom might make it back this year), the only one who got recognised solo was Keiki.  Someone didn't even recognise our Youko when she was with him.  Ah well, it's an awesome series that needs more love!

That said, hoping you can join up with us on Monday, either as Suzu or Youko (or heck, even if you manage to swing by just to say hi it'd be fab), but if not then hope to see you around at some other point just to flail happily over another JK cosplayer~

And since there appear to be no objections (and I have been lamentably slacky on this thread, partly due to computer mishaps), if I don't hear otherwise I'll put us in for Monday at 1pm this weekend.

Agreed. JK needs more love; it's a great series that has so much to offer. I'm usually a fan of one or two characters in a series, but I thoroughly enjoy most characters in JK. The novels are well written and a delight to read. I really really really hope that Tokyopop continues releasing the series.

Ha ha ha, poor Youko cosplayer!

I am going to see if I can rearrange my schedule to fly back either much later Monday or on Tuesday. If the con were in LA I would have no problem staying with friends for a night, but I have no one to depend on in the San Fran area. But I think it's worth looking into for awesome JK cosplay!! (I'd like to add variety to the Monday group with Suzu!) I was going to bring a Shoukei with me, but my friend will be gone by then. :(

...Well, I will likely be here to help take pics....but Kyou-ou is in storage in Illinois right now, and because she's in multiple boxes...and my grandparents don't know what they would be looking at....I won't be able to ship her either to myself (Florida) or to my Cali buddies.  :(
