Death Note Gathering 2011

Is there a gathering for Death Note cosplayers aside from the Shounen Jump one? If not, would anyone like to meet up? We have an L, Mello, and Near... lol.

UPDATE: The Death Note gathering will take place on Saturday at 5pm in front of the convention center.

This is going to be our first time at this con, so we're not sure where everything is, so if you know of places to meet for pictures and such, please let us know :) (heck, we've never been to San Jose before).

I've never gone to a gathering before because of Artist Alley but I have been to Fanime before. It gets crowded in front of the convention center so we may want to meet in front of one of the hotels or something.

@Rhornez: Lol, I'll bring 5 to the meeting place. Probably 3 Light Pins and 2 Ryuuk Pins.

And I'm pretty sure we're meeting up close to the evening, maybe 4:30?
Since the sun sets around 830, that'll give us enough time for some pics ;)
butttt this can be modified when we find out the time for the musicfest/ yaya matsushita concert.

OHHH, on the subject of photos, who should take them? Technically we're not an official gathering, so I'm not sure if Fanime photographers will be present. I might bring my SLR, so in one scenario I can ask a non-Death Note cosplayer to take our photo with my camera.

Idk....do you guys have other options? ^__^

Well I asked my friend to come with me since he has a good camera (he wont be in any cosplay) He can probably take some group shots of us.

Also park sounds like fun. I do have to be back after about 40 minutes though since I want to make as many sales as possible in AA. :3

The park sounds like a great idea! Our group almost always took pictures inside of the conventions... :-\
Hope we can find and drag along a Light as well!

Oh yes, we dunno our way around San Jose either lol. Is the park close to the con?

I litearlly lurked and wandered san jose from 8 pm to 12 am in the downtown area, its pretty creepy in some areas and i found a park or two not tooo far from the convention that has a playstructure and japan town is like atleast 1 mile away if u guys wanna trek it lolz

Well I know in front of the Fairmont Hotel theres a grass area thats park like and then there is Guadalupe Park / River a little ways down the road.

Shall we pick a place to meet first? and then we can walk somewhere together? (I'm bringing a plush of Rem :3 )

Hmm I'm not quite sure about the layout of the con, so does anyone have any suggestions on where to meet? Maybe at the hotel entrance?

If you click the link, its just a basic google map that I edited of where everything is. The blue dots with 1 and 2 are possible places we could meet.

1. The Hilton, Inside the convention right in front of Dealers Room there is an entrance to the Hilton Hotel. We could meet in front of those doors. The Dealers room was right in front last year if the Dealers room has moved forward just keep walking down the main hallway until you see glass doors. Thats the Hilton

2. Is right in front of the convention center. Maybe close to the Marriot?

I also added possible Grassy Areas we could go to.
