Okay so I am from out of state and have future plans that cost a lot of money. I was wondering if anyone from fanime 2011 could tell me the rate or what they paid for all four days of the con. I stayed at the Fairmont and it was expensive for all the fancyness of it. I also want to stay all four days and want a decent price on a room a not have to pay a crazy amount.  ??? ??? ???

If you're looking for the cheapest place to stay at, IIRC the cheapest hotel was the DoubleTree which started at about $90/night for a single bed room.  It was 8 blocks away from the convention center, but there was also a free shuttle service to and fro the hotel.

Thank you! I would like something a bit closer though. Umm.. so did you stay there and how was the stay?

Ah, well I was simply going for the low-price factor since it seemed like that's what you were after.  I personally did not stay there so I can't offer a review and possible recommendation.  I stayed at the Hilton, and after the room cost (double bed) and various taxes which come with every hotel stay, I think it came out to about $450 after I was refunded the $50/night security deposit charges (which all hotels do).  I think the Marriott, St. Claire and Crowne Plaza were slightly cheaper, though.  But I think the real question here is what are you looking for?  Are you willing to pay for convenience, or are you trying to find the absolute best price?  If you want the lowest price you'll likely be trading convenience.

I stayed at the Ramada last year for $65 a night for a single bed, I believe it was $70 for a double bed also. Its only about a block and a half away so it's not much of a walk, I would just always recommend walking with a friend after dark, but I like to do that no matter how far away the hotel is. Its not a super fancy hotel, you really get what you pay for but they have mini fridges and microwaves in every room and a free continental breakfast in the morning. I don't care much about it being super fancy personally because I'm only sleeping and changing there. As far as I know its the cheapest hotel for FanimeCon which is why I'm going back this year if its on the hotel list again for 2012.

I second the Ramada for all the same reasons! Make sure to have room mates to limit the cost as always :D

DO NOT CHOOSE HOTEL DE ANZE
They are not worth it to be considered an otaku hotel!

I strongly recommend NOT to go there!also damages made to the carpet wil cost a heavy price of $75.

Haunterluvcookies

Wow that is messed up! Thank you I will take your advice and not chose that hotel.
