No, I think it should be generalized.

Well this is based off the great feedback I got so far. So what do you guys think? Should the network I am trying to create be more generalized (like so many other sites out there) or attempt to lean more on a site for Bay Area fans?

YES! Absolutely!  :D

Colin's old site had a pretty good network, and I still keep in touch with some of them. And, no, you didn't have to be from the Bay Area to be on the forums. Not only would the site have Bay Area events, but could also have info about local anime stores -- and ads ("will sell advertising space for anime collectables", lol).

EDIT: I have a website, but not enough traffic for forum. I sure would like a sub-forum for on your site for me to use!

Thanks,

Cedric.

lol, sorry guys, I should have been more specific. I meant as in an "anime online network"
It looks like we're going to go through with it. Basically, the idea is that we report general anime news, have reviews, different sections, torrents, etc. and more specifically report local bay area anime news such as events. We're creating a community for Bay Area fans; we also would like to invite non- Bay Area fans to come see what the fuss about the Bay Area is about. People can plan get togethers or photo sessions. Also, we're looking into the idea with working with local retailers. Visitors can get special promotions, hear the latest from anime retailers, and request stuff they want to see in the stores. We all know that not all of us can travel everyday to Japantown for example so this a great way to know when to plan your shopping trips.
We can also hold petitions (i.e. for an anime tv network, etc.) since the online network would represent a collective gathering of the bay area fans' voice.
If anyone would like to help in any way even if giving suggestions please pm me!
