Got the Order Sol costume pretty much done, save the fussy details, which will probably end up taking me as long as everything else, and i now have all the materials for my Baiken costume. ^_^

my sister is actually in the same boat. she wants to use her own hair for jam, and im encouraging her to use a wig.

her argument is that real hair makes her get better into character, and my argument is that a wig can be pre-styled and tailed to your every whim, BEFORE the con (not to mention being able to pull off some physics-defying hairstyles that exist in anime and video games today) and not have to take the time to style it every time you want to get into the costume.

but in the end i guess it all comes down to what looks the best. shallow, savy?

Well, it also depends on the length of her hair.

To circle it the way Jam does clearly uses a lot of hair.
Granted, it would be a lot of fun, and it would look very showy and neat, it will require much more work than a wig customization.
Personally, I'd go with a wig, but I'm not cosplaying Jam. Heck, I'm cosplaying Venom and with my current hair situation, a wig is necessary.

Indeed a lot of gaming and anime hair have ridiculous physics, but hey; they look pretty awesome! ^^
